Republican Rod Dreher of the National Review on Larry King right now disowning Palin |

Wow. Just wow. Calling her 'ignorant,' a 'liability,' and saying how the liberal media elite excuse is bullshit. This from a Texas Republican. He said he won't vote for Obama, but won't vote for McCain anymore, either.

1. I'm getting suspicious |
|
At first this was fun, but why are so many pundits and stalwarts of the GOP suddenly piling on? They wouldn't talk like this if they weren't told to do so--after eight years of their parroting the GOP talking points like good little poodles, I am suspicious.
What is their evil plan? I'm asking only halfway facetiously.

2. He's really ripping her |
|
He identifies himself as a religious conservative and says "When McCain appointed her, I was eccstatic."
Then he says, "When she interviewed with Gibson and Couric, I began to realize that just because she made the right enemies on the left, that doesn't mean she's qualified to be the VP." He says he's "shocked and disillusioned" by how little she seems to know about what a VP should know and "I guess we'll just have to wait for 2012."
I hope this makes the news a la Kathleen Parker.

are genuinely appalled by her lack of knowledge.

i was wondering how anyone could vote for her. i just forget, three hours we had the shit on her. by that sunday we knew who she was and reduced her to trailor trash.... we knew it all. so we sit here amazed anyone is IN LOVE with her. the thing we and i have to remember is, we get such a massive dose of info here and we are way beyond most everyone else. takes a hell of a lot longer for others to get the info.... if they get it at all
repugs dont want her as pres. they are scared shitless. and mccain is old

7. I don't think it's because they're being told to . . . |
|
I think it's because they're NOT being told NOT to. No one is in charge in the Republican party anymore. They don't have any strongarms anymore like Delay. So they're actually free to speak their mind. And frankly, I think it's a good thing for the country.

If they were that well organized, the McCain campaign wouldn't be lurching from crisis to crisis AND dropping in the polls.

3. Et tu, Rod? But on 8/31/08 you called her "the marvelous Sarah Palin" |
|
Not long ago, you might have foreseen the Republican pilgrimage to St. Paul, Minn., as having all the brio of the Bataan Death March. Surprise! For all the party's problems, Republicans find themselves with a fighting chance of holding onto the presidency after all. Impressive, that – as was John McCain's gutsy choice of the marvelous Sarah Palin. Maybe this grand old party still has life in it.
The Palin pick, vivifying though it is, does not erase the fundamental philosophical problems besetting the GOP. Even if Mr. McCain pulls off a November upset, this week's GOP convention will still mark the end of something. It will, in effect, be the last hurrah of the Republican Party as we've known it for a generation. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/opinion/columnists/rdreher/stories/DN-dreher_31edi.ART.State.Edition1.4d7bd71.htmlHa! I knew he was going have to eat those words.

8. We need a list of Repugs who have come out against Palin..... |
|
George Will and Kathleen Parker have both said she needs to be dumped from the ticket.
A list with links to their quotes re this person is powerful stuff.
Coming from wingnuts makes it strong.

with nominating such a candidate. They would actually challenge them and call them on their BS.

They are going to be covering for their own as things go bad. McCain was never liked, he will be an easy target. Newt is going to raise hell, Mitt will be fighting for his piece, this will be fun to watch.
