McCain cancels visit to Plymouth MI and Reno NV
McCain cancels visit to Plymouth
BY TONY BRUSCATO • OBSERVER STAFF WRITER • October 1, 2008

No reason has been given by the Republican Party except to say the McCain rally on Wednesday, Oct. 8, was cancelled and may be rescheduled at a later date.

Plymouth City Manager Paul Sincock met with preliminary advance people Tuesday about the event, and was expected to meet with the Secret Service later this week. Sincock confirmed in an e-mail the visit was off.

President Bush and Sen. John McCain have cancelled their Reno appearances planned for this week.

McCain Campaign spokesman Rick Gorka said McCain had only tentatively planned a trip to Reno on Thursday. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney still plans to make an appearance on behalf of McCain Thursday.

1. That's the way to endear yourself to voters Johnny boy!
...or is he cancelling because he has to fix the economy?

2. McNoshow.
He is phoning it in, and going to run a national campaign, on national media only.

And, he will lose.

4. I think you may be right
Since the "suspension" of his campaign he has had more days off the campaign trail than on it.

5. Health Issues
I think Sen. McCain has a serious health condition which makes his travel dangerous. He didn't want to attend the debate and he rarely has more than one event per day. He has cancelled several appearances recently. His appearance before the Editorial Bd of the Des Moines Register shows he is not a healthy person, either physically or mentally.

14. The Des Moines Register - is that the little "I've never been an astronaut" chat?
His rage is just barely under control.

11. Perhaps, but they still DO have a chance in MI and NV...
It would be crazy not to try in these states at all, even with sagging funds. Hell I get McCain commercials on TV here in New York, and old man McCain certainly doesn't have a chance there!

13. Two polls late last week showed Obama with double-digit leads in Michigan
Ten and thirteen points.

IMHO, McCain may be putting his limited resources in states where he has more of a chance.

17. Why is he in Iowa?
Recent polls have him down double digits. Only one in memory had him down as little as 8 points. Perhaps he is trying to save Congressman Tom Latham by showing up here.
