PA: Franklin and Marshall College Poll Obama 45% McCain 38%.
among registered voters. With leaners it's Obama 48% McCain 43%. Poll was conducted over the period of September 23 – 28, 2008.

Interesting that one of the sponsors of this poll is Richard Mellon Scaife's Tribune Review.

Lots of good internals at the link:

<snip>

Obama holds a sizable lead among younger residents, non-whites, college graduates, women, and residents of Philadelphia and Allegheny County. McCain has an advantage among men, Protestants, fundamentalist Christians, military veterans, and residents of Northwestern Pennsylvania (see Table A-1).

White working class voters narrowly favor McCain over Obama 44% to
42%, but his advantage among these voters has shrunk since August when he was
ahead 45% to 39%. McCain’s advantage among white men (51% to 30%) has
increased since August (48% to 36%) while Obama has increased his margin
among white women (49% to 36% now compared to 42% to 35% in August).

1. This is a tough polling organization for Democrats, so if Obama
is ahead is quite significant. It looks like Pennsylvania is going blue...we need Rendell, Bill and Hillary to campaign aggressively on behalf of Obama to keep the momentum going in Obama's favor

2. PA already is blue!
There are more registered Democrats than repukes by 1,000,000 now. Both Fast Eddie and Bob Casey, Jr. are in office due to the "blue turnout".

IMHO, I'd rather those folks go stump in the TRUE swing states like VA, NC, OH, CO, NM, NV, and FL. They are putting too many resources here that might be better used in states that have voted repuke in the last 4 Presidential elections, unlike PA, which voted for the Democratic nominee the last 4 Presidential elections.

3. There are parts of Pa like my county which
has a more than 60% Democrat registration, but voted for Bush in the past 2 elections. Abortion, gay marriage and guns have been big issues that caused many of the conservative Democrats here to vote Republican. But the economy here is not good, so I am hoping that people will vote their pocketbooks.
