Michelle Obama to appear in KC's Jazz District today
And I get to go! I'm so excited.

She's going to be appearing at the historic 18th and Vine Jazz District in Kansas City, which houses the city's Jazz Museum as well as the nationally praised Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. I love both of these venues and the historical vibe down there today will be amazing.

If Charlie Parker has a ghost, I'm sure he'll be watching :)

McNut, on the other hand, is also here today and will be trying to channel President Truman at his Presidential Library this morning. I'm sure somewhere Truman is weeping (and cursing).

A little more info on the Jazz District:

2. The Negro League Museum
The Negro League Museum is one of the coolest museums I've ever visited. There's a baseball diamond with life-size bronze sculptures of stars like Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, and Satchel Paige. I visited a few years back and picked up a spiffy KC Monarchs cap. If you're ever in Kansas City, and care about baseball or the civil rights movement, do not miss this place!

3.  The Jazz Museum is cool too. My Father used to spend a lot
of time in the clubs along Vine listening to Count Basie, Charley Parker, Bennie Moten and many more. This is where my Dad's southern roots came into contact with Black culture and people and any predjudice that was taught to him was banished. I wish I was there to see Michele. I know my Father's spirit will be there. GOBAMA !!!
