Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 02:39 PM by VolcanoJen
This is so encouraging, everyone... here in Ohio, we can't WAIT to vote!!!!!

These photos were taken at the Hamilton County Board of Elections in downtown Cincinnati. I think my favorite is the photo of the men cooking breakfast for everyone who waited outside for the doors to open... Everybody wants to be THE FIRST to cast their vote for Obama/Biden in OHIO!!

Please let these photos get us all FIRED UP and READY TO GO!

News article here:

Cincinnati Enquirer - Hundreds voted early - Democrats' efforts apparent; GOP loses on same-day registration/voting

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Keep it kicked, DU, for inspiration!!!!

We're working our tails off in OHIO for OBAMA/BIDEN and for YOU!!!! C'MON OHIO!!!!

16. The Obama team knows early voting in Ohio is KEY.
We're all over it here... and the SEIU has stepped in to help us, throwing all of their money and efforts to the Ohio Early Vote!

Keep in mind that not only can you vote early, but in Ohio, until October 6th, you can show up at the Board of Elections, and register to vote AND vote in the same day! It's called One Stop, One Vote and... hold onto your hats... the GOP in Ohio passed this law in 2006 and our then-GOP Governor signed it into law! It was intended to help the GOP in '06 (didn't work out, now, did it?) and the law is set to expire in January of 2009.

But.... that didn't stop the GOP from taking the law to the Ohio Supreme Court in an effort to get it overturned just last week. Guess what? THEY LOST.

And so, EARLY VOTING BEGINS IN OHIO!

29. can you early vote on the weekend in Ohio? How long does the early voting period
last?

This is totally awesome.

Ours doesn't start until Oct 13 and runs through Oct 26 I THINK, because it has to close at least 1 week before Election Day. It may start as early oas the 10th to get an extra weekend in there, because we can early vote on Saturday and Sunday here.

30. You can vote early during normal business hours, from now until November 4th!
In most of the larger counties in Ohio, the Board of Elections is going to be open on Saturdays until noon. Here in Hamilton County, they also keep late hours until 7:00 two days a week!!

Isn't it the coolest? :-)

10. Is it overly paranoid to worry about early voting?
Voting now just means that there's 30-some days for some of these votes to somehow "disappear" right? Isn't the safer bet from a disenfranchisement standpoint to vote on election day so that they can't cleanse the computers?

24. You have to remember that in 2004, the Ohio GOP Machine removed voting apparatus from....
... Democratic precincts across the state, specifically African-American precincts, and installed the machines in wealthier suburbs.

That led to LONG, LONG LINES in the most miserable November weather imaginable on Election Day 2004. In some precincts, voters waited FOUR HOURS to cast their ballots. The people who remained in those lines in my state are my heroes, but it's not much of a stretch to imagine how discouraged maybe thousands of other voters were when they saw those lines.

This is one of the many ways the election was stolen in Ohio in 2004. Early Voting helps prevent this from happening again.

was among the first in Hamilton County to register to vote and then immediately cast a ballot.

'This is my first opportunity ever to vote in my life,' said Goloborodko, 24, who received his U.S. citizenship in 2007 and hadn't registered yet."

Vote NOW, so you don't have to stand in a four-hour line on Election Day.

Those lines in Ohio in 2004 may have very well lost the election for John Kerry, and we're not going to make that mistake again!

59. I'm against early voting for one reason only:
According to the statistics I've seen, in 2006 it appears that about 5% of the votes were flipped which the Repukes thought would be enough to steal it.
Bush wasn't worried prior to the election. Why? They thought they had it covered by their margin, and indeed that 5% margin did indeed defeat some Democrats!

This early voting will give them a much better handle on the percentage they need to flip to steal yet another election

and the MSM, especially with the 'close polling' they've been concocting for months, will dutifully yap about how it's 'within the margin of error' and that, against all precedent, against all evidence in monitoring elections in other countries, against all common sense will contend that 'exit polls aren't truly indicative of the actual vote'.
But only in the U.S. -- in OTHER countries it means foul play.
Of course. :eyes:

The Immoral Minority is spewing its bullshit as usual all to the detriment of Truth, Fair Play, Citizen's Rights and our Constitution -- which are no longer The American Way

and until we get some Democratic politicians with backbone in Congress, it's going to happen again and again.
