Could Biden overperform?
All the chatter on the cable news, in the papers, and on the blogs is whether Palin will beat expectations tomorrow.

But I wonder if it could be Biden who "beats" expectations.

I'm not talking about the expectations among political junkies, who all know Biden. But the average American knows very little about Biden. He's virtually the invisible man of the campaign -- and through no fault of his own. He's quietly been doing fantastic stump speeches and has been an excellent surrogate. Yet most people still haven't heard from him or listened to him.

If you remember from the debates and from his interviews, Biden is not only a quick and sharp debater, but comes off as extremely likeable. He's funny, he's genuine and he comes off as a smart-but-easy-to-relate-to regular guy.

Pre-VP debate polls already show people expect Biden to beat Palin on issues but expect Palin to be more likeable. I wonder if Biden, who many voters have barely watched, will actually wind up coming off as more likeable. I think people will be impressed by him.

4. I'd rather have a drink with Joe.
Sarah's voice would make me want to stuff martini olives in my ears...

5. " ... expect Palin to be more likeable ..."
Gad, it's hard for me to understand that opinion. Is it because I'm old enough to be her mother? Is it because I remember too many smart-ass cheer-leader types with grating voices from teaching Freshman English? Is it because she reminds me of a jumped-up floozie? I've tried not to be so judgmental, I really have, and I know (I think) it's not her fault McCain chose her, but I just. don't. LIKE. her.

6. Oh I agree
She's whiny and annoying and dumb. And she tries to make a virtue of anti-intellectualism.
