More people want to see a train wreck, than root for the underdog
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 06:08 PM by Tribetime
I don't buy Palin can win since the bar is low. I might have believed that 3-4 weeks ago when her approval rating was up, but since her interviews I think people are looking for a comedy car crash, most people don't approve of her now.

1. Nobody wants to root for Sarah Palin.
People want to see her destroyed.

2. SNL - Thursday Night Edition - This Palin Debate Reminds Me Of.......
a talent show I went to when I was in college. There was one guy in the talent show singing. To begin with he was 'nerdy'. And when he sang he was bad. But the reaction of the audience was phenomenal - they all got engaged by this guy and began cheering. The more they cheered - the more this guy thought he was the next Frank Sinatra - and he even got worse. Which fed the audience even more. And again the more the audience cheered - the better he thought he did. Little did he know they were all laughing at him.

This was both the funniest thing I've ever seen - and at the same time the saddest - as he really didn't realize how much he was embarrassing himself.

I sense that the same thing will occur tomorrow at the debate. People will watch - just to see her make a caricature of herself. Tina Fey really contributed to the desire of people to watch tomorrow's debate.

It's kind of like people that like to watch car races (NASCAR, INDY) just to see the crashes.

I know that I'm going to be curled up in front of the TV with a cool cocktail and some munchies and I'll probably record it as well.

3. The debate WILL have a laugh track, won't it? I assume it will. NT
