21. What makes it even more so is the fact that she studied Journalism in college.
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 10:35 AM by vaberella
I don't get how you study Journalism and yet can't name ONE newspaper...anything. I'll take The Watchtower. I got so desperate I was taking the Gotham Gazette of Gotham City or the Daily Planet of Metropolis---> we could check later if there were real ones.

But you just lost my vote for president of the United States. Looks like I'll have to vote for Obama/Biden instead.

Sorry, you'll just have to stick with whatever your talent is.

And I have every confidence that you are extremely good at something. Keep it up, even if it doesn't qualify you to be Vice President.

I'm not running for Vice President either.

Everyone running for Vice President - raise your hand! Hmmmm.... I only see two hands, so I'll focus on what THEY know.

That is the basic "Palin game"

If you criticize her, folks would think, "Well I don't read any newspapers or know any court decisions", and they think it is some sort of personal criticism of them.

But, hey, I'm not sexist. I thought you were a gay black man. I'm a homophobic racist.

16. And this is what pisses off Couric.
She was on board when people said the media was very sexist to women candidates in paticular to HRC. They thought she was safe, and she is extremely safe, I've never seen a woman able to throughout so many shitty questions. It sounded like a Pre-K school interview.

Anyway, Couric comes in tossing her shit questions---not one of which is "gotcha". Stumping question? One regulatory practice of your running mate--if you state trash back it up with facts. That's all she was asking. That wasn't gotcha that was just a normal follow-up question, lame facts about your running mate who's head of the ticket. Second, Rick Davis is your campaign manager, they should have prepped you on any questions like that. It was the no.1 news discussion point---not hard. If you didn't want to answer it, all you had to say was that "That is a matter that is important in the news yes, but is really between McCain and Davis." If Couric pressed on, you could say, "I thought this interview was about me and my positions, not the campaign manager's private life?" <---Or something like that.

Court case...just any court case. Exxon vs. Baker was in Alaska and she wrote a statement on it and yet nothing. Dear Lord. That's not gotcha, that's elementary social studies. There has been not one single "gotcha" question. That random one from the voter was one she had stated several times before. This is ludicrous and turning them further into the joke that they are.

26. Thus far, Palin has demonstrated
that she has less knowledge of national and world affairs thant the average well informed citizen. For crying out loud my 12 year old daughter knows the Bush Doctrine. Given the extremely low level of preparation, it is hard for any reasonable question regarding history or current affairs to not have the effect of "gotcha" journalism. "Gotcha journalism" has as its objective the creation of an appearance which is not representative of the person or situation.

In this case, however, the appearance created by the Couric interview ... the appearance of a profound ignorance of the issues and their context ... is not deceiving. The Couric interview merely re-inforced what we all saw during the Gibson interview. This woman is dangerously unprepared for the position to which she aspires. If Americans cannot sort that out, then it is unlikely that America will do well confronting the challenges of the 21st Century.

31. Silly claim, even if true - Guess What: It's a GOTCHA! Job

I'm sick of eight years of:

"We weren't prepared for terrorist attack"

"We weren't prepared for a hurricane"

"We weren't prepared for economic crisis"

Memo to Republicans - No matter who is president, shit happens, and how you deal with what you "weren't prepared" for is more important that what you were, and should have been, prepared.

I have had enough of this attitude of showing up a day after the exam with a note from your mom, or arguing with the prof over your grade.

Life is unfair. The world is unfair. Screaming "it's not fair" is not a mechanism for addressing those facts. It is an observation, not a coping strategy.

This is a thought-out campaign going on here. Steve Schmidt's attack on the New York Times yesterday was pretty desperate, too. Michelle Malkin's attack on Gwen Ifill is part of the same campaign.

What sort of questions would you ask if you were hiring a CEO for your company?

People need to take the process much more seriously, starting with so-called journalists. We need to stop the idiotic 'who would you like to have a beer with' games.

Gotcha my ass. She couldn't even bullshit a decent answer for what would be for anyone else softball questions. Newspapers? Magazines? Supreme court? I'm around her age, I'm not a politician, much less a Governor of a state and I can name a couple off the top of my head.

She could have pointed out how she opposes the Native Americans in her state having subsistence hunting and fishing rights in favor of commercial and sports hunting and fishing. I mean it's soooo cool that she can kill a goddam moose. What an asshole. Bet she can name the Alaskan court ruling slapping her silly ass down.

Probably thinks they should all go back where they came from--- Oops, wait a minute, Sarah...
