That seems to be the major talking point from all those who are following this so close. While I agree, I don't think he needs to sit back and let Palin snark him for ninety minutes either. I don't think there's any doubt she will do the "cutesy-snark" act because that's where she'll try to make up for her incompetence.

Is anyone else nervous about tonight? I think it's because we really don't know what to expect from her. We can speculate all day long, but other than the governor debate footage and the stupid interviews, we really don't know.

It's gonna be a nail-bitin' day.

1. yeah, she'll be condescending as hell to him
while he has to walk on eggshells....honestly, like someone else said on tv last week, it's impossible NOT to be condescending towards her! And don't you dare call McCain "confused" or their camp will scream ageism, but Sarah can make comments about Biden's age and it's "cute".

3. He just needs to talk to Ifill and us - pretend it's a press conference

Be polite and respectful to Palin, call her "governor", make eye contact. But refer to "McCain" policies, not "McCain/Palin" policies, for example. Treat her as a surrogate.

He can marginalize her without patronizing her.

But what do I know? Whatever my idea is, Obama/Biden have a better one I'm sure.

6. He should primarily go after Mcsame. They have been friends for
decades, so he has the credentials to really blow some holes in the uss mccain. However, if palin exhibits the same simpering inanity she has shown such hardball interviewers as katie couric, he should rip her a new one. The rethugs are going to accuse him of being "mean" and the moderator as being "biased" no matter what. Have at it Joe. Don't give a second thought to anything that the rw might say tomorrow, because they are going to do it anyway.

7. remember how condescending McCain was to Obama last week and how Obama was
courteous to McCain but still got his points in--the TV audience liked that--that is what Biden should do. Let Palin be snarky but speak over it and directly to the audience and get his points in. He will win easily.

9. All Biden needs to do is appear solid, sane, and dignified......
and give thoughtful answers. That's what Obama did in the debate, and McCain's own petulance made him look bad.

Palin will not look good. Her disastrous performances so far will not be erased by her trade-mark snarkiness (which only pleases her hardcore fans, and offends everyone else), or the sort of simplistic answers to complex questions we've heard from her so far.

11. i listened to biden talk about woman and womans issue with couric. he isnt condescending to

women so i have absolute faith it is not within biden and wont happen. being condescending to women is something that is there or not. if a man sees a woman as equal.... it wont happen, not an issue, and it isnt an issue for biden. IF a man feels it, will show regardless.

12. I am sick to death of them saying this CRAP! They are trying to tie his hands. I say-
take the gloves off. And I'd be ready for a quick reply about qualified woman not needing to hide behind sexism. Something like "Sorry, but to not point out your inadequacies would be chauvinistic of me."
