Senate Dem Leaders should strip Zell Miller of all his committee seats |
|
You know, I'll be the first to admit that I defended Zell Miller. Sure, he was pretty much a democrat in name only, but he stilled voted for the Democrats when it came to leadership positions (ie - he didn't turn republican when Jeffords defected and gave us Senate Majority) and I figured for now, I'll accept him in the party.
But for over a year the writing has been on the wall that Zell Miller should NOT be in our party but lets face it, I don't think you can force someone to switch parties. But for what time is left in the office, I think Zell should be removed from ever committee seat he has. Dem Leadership helps to determine what committees you'll serve and they can very easily replace him and force him off of the committees. I would think that's the biggest shame that could happen to an elected official without going through all that censuring/impeaching process. BTW, that was actually done to Jim Trafficant before he was indicted and lost his seat.
Committees that Zell Miller serves on include:
Agriculture Housing Veteran Affairs
He's not the head of any subcommittees, but I think Zell should be kicked off of all committees until he's out of office. He's earned that distinction

1. Yes, there has to be a penalty for pandering to the enemy.... |

...Zell Miller could be humored as long as he hob nobbed with the republicans, but once he took the podium at the RNC and said the things he said, he should be stripped of all seniority with the democratic party.

2. If Zell wants a committee seat - ask the repukes for one |
|
That's what Dems should say to Zell
