Dukakis on Rachel

. . . said Palin has less people in her state than Obama's district had in Illinois.

If that's true . . . that's a pretty kick-ass talking point

1. I believe it. Illinois is a fairly densely populated state, whereas Alaska, were it an independent
country, would be the most sparse on Earth. Even Mongolia has what, 3-4 people per square mile? Alaska has about 1.

2. Yes, that's my understanding.
San Francisco has more people than does Alaska, for that matter.

Illinois is the 5th most populous state in the Union. Alaska is the 48th, followed only by North Dakota and Vermont.

6. Close to true
Obama's district as of 2006 was 653,647 (Source).

Alaska's population in 2000 was 670,053 (Source)

7. Obama's running for President so I don't like for him to be compared to Palin. Isn't that what the
Rethugs want?

9. Very true
But, it still is snarky to say that Palin's state is about the same size as Obama's state senate district.

10. No, that's not what they want.
McCain choosing Palin killed that talking point, and the GOP have been trying to avoid it for weeks.
