Uhm.....if she’s not out there fundraising, I’d say McCain — real quiet like — is trying to win CA. Maybe he thinks they can. He also thinks the bailout is a great idea.

California’s in play. You can tell that by the way the media has scrupulously avoided mentioning California for months.

Could be the financial mess the state is in.

Could be a rope-a-dope...pull Obama away from the swing states and make him spend money...or keep him out of red states that are vulnerable....making him defend relatively safe territory??

Of course, Texas is closer for us than California is for them...

4. I believe that. I believe CA is within the MOE on the FReeper poll
because they only surveyed 9 people & so the margin of error is +/- 40.

I have seen many TV ads for McCain. I'm so glad I'm in the habit of muting all commercials. It's bad enough having to see his face.

I live in California. I know California politics. There is no way McCain has a prayer and a chance of winning California. Yes, we have a Republican governor, but let's be honest, he is really a RINO that pisses off the Republicans more often than he does a majority of the Democrats.

By the freeper "logic," Bush and Cheney coming to California to fundraise somehow indicates that they thought they could win California... and I think I can safely say that Bush/Cheney won neither 2000 or 2004 in California (or the actual election, but that is a whole other conversation.)

But, if McCain wants to waste his money in California, by all means, do so. It won't do any good, but... ok!

In addition, Prop 8, the anti-gay hate proposition to ban Marriage Equality and make it Constitutional, is losing by over 17 points last time I checked. This is a pretty good indicator. Also, all the polls has Obama up by over 15 points... without really putting any effort in California.

13. I love how the Freepers credit McCain with some kind of brilliant strategy every time he makes
another stupid fucking move. They are constantly trying to hypothesize about "internal polling data" and other super secret strategies that McCain must have because it's unimaginable that anybody can run such a piss poor campaign on purpose.

Earth to freepers: Your guy jumped the shark the moment the words "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" left his lips. Did you hear that? On the heels of that, he demanded the SEC chief should be fired, he suspended his campaign and then he threatened to miss the debate. He's a lunatic, he's a loose cannon, he's unstable and HE HAS NO BRILLIANT STRATEGY THAT IS LURKING BENEATH THE SURFACE.

He's just an idiot, pure and simple. Do you get that yet?

30. ROFL...
That was an excellent post Happyhippy. :)

The fact of the matter is that McCain is eerily similar to Bush. He was born into privilege, fucked up all of his opportunities in life, but constantly pulled strings in order to become a national politician. You are right, he's an idiot, plain and simple.

16. Well in fairness to the Freepers
McCain is only behind by about 15 percentage points in CA. I guess that is almost good compared to the 21 and 41 points he is trailing by in NY and HI respectively? No?

Oh well-it makes as much sense as anything else in Freeperville ?

22. Is anyone worried that we're going to see violence..
.. in the case of an Obama victory?

Homegrown terrorists? Perhaps not on the thread that you linked to, but in other places the freepers' rhetoric is a bit more violent and malicious. I'm sure that 99% of them are cowards who won't leave the comfort of momma's basement, but that crazy 1%..

Otherwise, I'm really going to enjoy their torment when the reality of "President Barack Hussein Obama" lands squarely in their laps. What a fun night it'll be over at the freeper treehouse.. :)

26. I scanned through the pages of response to that and they have proof
See rush has explained to them the polls are wrong, they're trying to discourage McCain voters and the MSM is in the tank for Obama and don't want the race over with...
Then they add in the Bradley effect and all of the Hillary voters in CA that won't vote Obama and McCain has it won easily.

Clearly we are doomed. California has turned red, Obama will probably only win Chicago and Hawaii. rush and free republic have proved it.

Doomed. It's so clear to me now.

He is probably polling so well because of the Bradley effect so strong in the Hispanic community.

on all levels.

take the 11th District and my former Congressman in the once Repug stronghold valley, McNerny.

It was a huge deal when he won the seat 2 years ago, now it looks like he's holding on.

When things are desperate, you do start reaching out for all kinds of wierd shit. haha.
