Is the "he's a Muslim" meme now dead for anyone with a brain ?

I know some RW'ers will go to their grave believing that Obama is Muslim (and I would not care if he was), but that false meme is dead for others, correct ?

...and it listed instances of Muslim extremist terrorism.

My neighbors, who are life-long Democrats, still believe it. I really think the problem is that he's black ... but they can't say that so they use the "he's a Muslim" meme as an excuse. I don't think they'll vote Republican this year, but I'm not sure they'll vote for Obama.

But they go to church where everyone else thinks he's a Muslim and the gossip spreads like wildfire. Here you have a group of well-meaning people (ostensibly ... although one could easily argue that churches are full of back-biting sinners), gathering together at least once per week. All of them are friends and have been for decades. Someone heard something that, no doubt, originated from a right wing hate email. That someone tells someone else at church, etc. Their friends wouldn't lie to them, so it must be true. :shrug:

7. My Republican husband says Obama's biography used to say that he was Muslim and attended madrass,

then it was erased from the bio. I assume other Pubs say the same thing.
