What would YOU ask at Tuesday's town hall? |
|
I would love to see someone rattle off all the times McSchmuck has voted against veterans' best interests -- and ask him to justify those votes, or to justify his claim that he is the candidate who cares most about vets.
I would also like to ask Johnny to list off SPECIFIC QUALITIES that make Palin qualified to be VP -- without using the word maverick.

1. I would ask McLame, "Your VP seems to live a good life |
|

with a husband who makes a very good earning from a union job. Do you think that all people should be able to unionize in their line of work so they can enjoy a good life and wage without having fear of intimdation or being fired"?

7. I would ask McCain: "Why did you pick a VP who is currently |
|
under investigation? Considering the fact that members of the Bush administration have ignored subpoenas and exhibited blatant disrespect for the law, don't you think Palin's behavior is just more of the same?"

11. I'd ask him, why, if tax cuts are so good and tax increases kill jobs, |
|
why has the economy turned to shit and the job market gone down the tubes under all of the Bush tax cuts he's voted for.

17. Senator, how can you accuse the Obama campagn of sexism when you yourself ... |
|
called 14 year old Chelsea Clinton "ugly" and joked that she was the product of a lesbian affair, and have also been overheard referring to your own wife with an incredibly vile gender-specific slur?

18. "Senator McCain, were you the one responsible for such a silly choice of running mate?" |
|
"Or was it the NRA or some other rightwing faction of your party who forced your hand"? "If it was you who decided on her, did you do it just to unite the Democratic Party because you knew she would piss us all off like no other neocon before her?"
That's what I would ask that asshole.

24. I'd ask mcsame why he wants to go out like this. |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 12:50 PM by calimary
Why, after everything he's done and gone through in his life, in the twilight of his political career, he wants to go out like THIS - lying, cheating, melodramatic stunts, hysteria and desperation, distorting and misrepresenting, swathed head-to-toe in negativity and lies and character assassination and slime, trying to smear his opponent because that's all he has left - all of which only winds up making him look bad. Why does he want to go out, leaving THIS taste in America's mouths, and THIS blot on his record? Is THIS the way you want America to look at you and feel about you? Senator, is THIS the impression you really want to leave, as the capper of your political career? People tend to remember best the last thing they see and/or hear (especially our dumbed-down, soundbite-mentality country). Is THIS how you really wish to be known as you sign out? THIS is the period you'll be putting on the end of your sentence. Is this REALLY what you want, and how you want to be remembered?

He is sort of a tragic figure when you look at it that way -- he did some good things in his long career. Now if (when) he loses this race, that'll be IT for him. Nice point.

28. Well, the biggest (and often, last) thing you do tends to be the first line of your obituary. |
|
That'll be what john mcsame is remembered for, when the last lines are written.
For bobdole, it'll be the last campaign (for president, which he LOST, ie: a FAILURE) and some Viagra commercials. The latest and last things that distinguished him in his life, and the last roles he played, were of a failure and a dirty old man. Whatever happened before that, his long and distinguished record as a public servant and yes, a war hero, will be buried in the mush farther down in the write-thru, "below the fold" - where few people have the time or patience to skim. The "USA Today"-mentality readers have long ago been preconditioned to bother only with newspaper stories that hit their faces there on the front page so they don't have to work too hard and turn a bunch of pages trying to find the rest of the story. Most people don't bother. Most people, unfortunately, do what dubya does - scan the headlines to get the "gist" of the story and they're done. Finished. Bye-bye. Off to the races or whatever. Short-attention-span Theater in real life. The whole "what have you done for me lately" thing. It's like the late Tom Snyder once said - "you're only as good as your last show."
