39. Well now... I don't know about that.
Ever since Palin was chosen for the VP slot, and all of my conservative repub friends and acquaintances became all aglow with wonderment and adoration of her, I have been praying as well. I've been praying that the truth will come out about her. Because I just knew that if she were to be revealed for what she really is, then she'd be all in. And now, what with the interviews, and the way the press has responded to her and the McCain camp in general recently, I feel like that prayer has been answered pretty effectively...hehehe

prayer does change things:)

Godfather, I've been christian (catholic, episcopalian, santeria and all sorts of churches) all my life. I have the faith of a child but never claim to 'know.' I trust. Back when I first joined DU I used to get riled by what I perceived as anti-christian posts. No I get the point if they're not mean-spirited. I'm secure enough in my faith that I actually enjoy reading those 'atheist' quotes upthread. There's some truths to be found just about everywhere....EXCEPTING Free Republic.

31. Didn't know that.......good.
So where'd some other demominations miss it?

Thoughts take form. If you send out vibes toward another (prayer, etc), your own personal ones as to how the outcome will be poison the energy going their way, making it less effective and with the ability to cause harm.

Thy will be done would be a pure effective aid for one of faith. I simply wish for the best for all myself, though it is hard not to tell the universe what you personally wish that to be ; )

34. They have prayer threads for everything over there.
Pray for Bush, Pray for O'Reilly, Pray for the VP debate. I'm not much of a believer, but if they want to pray...that's fine. I noticed a lot of prayers for Joe and Jill Biden and thought that was sweet. However, it really pisses me off when they have their "pray against" threads. Pray against Obama, pray against the atheists, pray against Muslims, pray against DU. Down-home Christian values in action.

36. I am praying for McCain/ Palin daily.
I pray that they will not stand in the way of what is right for this country. I pray that voters will vote with clear hearts and minds, based on the issues rather than on the frivolous, and I pray that both of them will make a speedy exit from the national stage very soon after losing the election.

Amen.

Wonder how God feels about dirty rotten scum like Palin and McBush slandering Obama, lyin cheating and stealing elections in his name???

Does God listen to our homegrown Taliban, the religious right, freepers, etc? If so then why is our country collapsing around us? Why did the hurricane strike america as the rethug convention of thieves was getting under way?

It was a beautiful night when Obama accepted the nomination in the outdoor stadium in Colorado and all of our radical taliban were on their knees 24/7 praying for a disaster to strike.

43. Question Re: Free Republic
How many regular members does Free Republic have? The only time I'd ever seen the board is when I click off links from here. The educational level (whether self-educated or formally, I make no distinction when people care enough to be constantly learning) of those people is pathetic.

I've been co-admin of a multi-interest forum for a long time. Since the beginning of the year we lost so-called conservative members. This election season has been very polarising, more so than that of 2004. I've tried to do online voter education on politically oriented forums and have seen that the rightwingers are very, very threatened and angry, more close-minded than ever.

Here's one typical board where I gave up. There are still a couple of progressive people who haven't thrown in the towel. I think they're wasting their time.

http://thenearlyfamousbulletinboard.yuku.com/

What has come to the surface with white males who post online a lot is simply the racism they had suppressed before they were threatened by the spectre of a strong, intelligent man of colour becoming President. These kind of guys always harp on the rev. Wright statements, and they transfer their racism, claiming Obama is a racist. ~rolls eyes~
