Photos from Anchorage's big Obama rally yesterday.
Since the media chose to concentrate on Todd Palin's appearance at the pro-Sarah rally held at the same time a few blocks away (and which was attended by maybe 250-300 people), I think it's my duty to point out the comparative numbers.

Lots more here: http://northernvisions.smugmug.com/gallery/6149864_tVFAA#387259234_keV2Y

I thank you for them.

Looks like it is cold in Alaska! As a Californian, I cannot relate to the coats and hats in early October. LOL!

Makes these folks that much more outstanding! :patriot:

19. I think generously maybe 250-300 at the Palin rally
from Mudflats' report. I think somebody has put some pressure on our Anchorage Daily News because they gave the bulk of their coverage today to the Palin rally, with just a couple of paragraphs within that article describing the Obama rally, and rather disingenuously stating that "hundreds" attended each. Make that 3 hundred for Palin, and probably 12 hundred (at least) for Obama.

that Alaska isn't Palin, nut-job country!

I'm so sorry we will have to send her back to you though. Do you guys have a "recall" option for your governor?

23. We're taking it one day at a time.
Of immediate concern is how the Supreme Court will rule Wednesday on releasing Steve Branchflower's "Troopergate" report. The report is due to be released Friday and the Supremes have promised a decision before then.

30. It IS really big news in Alaska
If you missed these links that I've posted here in the past few days, they'll kind of give you a feel for the general mood.

The Anchorage Daily News comments to articles and blog entries are pretty revealing, as well, that the people of Alaska are pretty upset about all this.

I have seen some of the links, but didn't know if that reflected just a handful of sane people or if it was a relatively dominant attitude.

Thanks again for keeping us informed as to what is REALLY going on up there!

I had a birthday party for my one year old nephew that day and couldn't come. However, I will come up for the next one if I have to drive my nephew's extremely hot lime green four wheel drive hot wheels jeepy thing.

31. Yay for Alaska!
Although it's sad for Alaska that when we win, they'll still lose because Sarah Palin would still be their governor... Alaska really needs some sort of procedure to remove incompetence like a recall election or something. Hopefully you guys will able to do something about it soon!
