Almost Glad That McCain Has Completely Embraced Bush's Campaign Strategy In The Last 30 Days
Obama's strategy from the beginning has been to tie McCain to George Bush. McCain's policies, of course, are virtually identical to Bush, but he had cultivated this image such that people almost perceived as a moderate, and McCain famously declared that he would never take the low road to the highest office in the land back in 2000. Well, in the last 30 days with McCain's most extreme smears making the rounds yet, it appears that there is now absolutely no difference between Bush and McCain. Their economic policies are the same. Their foreign policy is the same. Now, there is no doubt that they campaign in exactly the same way.

So, McCain recent efforts to completely "turn the page" on the economy, even though most Americans lack this luxury, and focus on smearing Obama and Democrats gives us a chance to beat George Bush and Karl Rove. McCain has dropped the pretense of being a different type of Republican, and now the real question is whether people would vote for Bush or Obama, because this is the real question. My take is that when speaking to folks who are wavering, if they say they would not vote for Bush over Obama, but that they would vote for McCain, the question is why? If they say they would vote for Bush, then that person is probably a lost cause, since they are apparently satisfied with the mess we are in.
