Poll question: How many DUers had the stomach to watch the GOP convention?
I'll fess up: I know it's my duty as a Dem to keep an eye on these sorts of things, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch any of it. I just knew that within 10 seconds I'd either be projectile vomitting or hurling heavy objects through my television screen. I am ashamed of myself, but I'm already so close to throwing in the towel and emigrating to Canada, it just didn't seem like a smart move for me.

5. Yeah
The specific class I'm taking is called "Road to the Presidency." It's basically about Presidential campaigns. We were supposed to go to the DNC, but the Committee screwed us at the last minute.

Overall, I'm going to go to law school and focus on civil liberties / human rights law after I graduate.

13. I slept through all of Chimpy's speech.
Just the sight of him was all it took.

The RNC was a complete waste of time, except for the protests outside MSG.

I woke up in time to hear Edwards and Kerry FINALLY take the gloves off in the best speeches of the campaign tonight in Ohio, after Bush "finally stopped talking" (in Kerry's words).

6. I watched what I could, even though I thought that I couldn't
bear to watch the koolaide drinking liars club. I am glad that I saw what I did, I just witnessed MORE LIES from the asses mouths.

After subjecting myself to it all I feel that I can handle anything.

Laura looked like Stepford
W looked tired
Chaney looked drawn
Girls looked immature
Arnold looked like a movie star
Z looked crazy
McCain was ineffectual
Rudy was O.K.
Pitaki looks like he has promise in the party....first he has to stop drinking the Koolaide though
Some of the delgate looked OBNOXIOUS....but then many delegates ARE obnoxious

All in all, for me it was easily tolerted....I saw them for what they were LOSERS!!!!

7. I watched it every night
It made me absolutely ill. Maybe I'm a masochist.

My husband left the room -- he couldn't stand listening to me yelling at them and madeing those god-awful noises!

Zell Miller looked insane -- his face was twisted in hatred.

Just saw the Kerry Rally on C-Span 2. Fantastic!

8. I didn't watch it at all, instead...
I watched garbage rotting for 4 days, and came away far more informed.

9. I watched most of it...
but I overdosed on Maalox from all the nauseating 9/11 rehashes, so I missed some of it. The DNC was like a pep rally, the RNC was like a wake...

10. I want to know what my Enemy is up to. Don't want second hand
info. Call it spying if you like. It WAS painful though, I will admit. Then, again, the "Zellmeltdown" was priceless...lol

11. Why would I waste my beautiful mind?
I'll let the rest of you guys watch it and report how horrible it was. Anyway, I've already seen the 1930s Nuremberg rallies so I already know what the Bush Nazis are saying.

16. "Know Your Enemies"
The Repubs paid attention to Our convention. It was very obvious that they learned from our mistakes.
For starters we refused to let in that Arab TV station, Al Jazeera. They let them in.
I could go on, but I think you get the point. If you don't know what the Opposition is up to, you're going to lose the Election.

17. Not so much as a minute...
I really had to stay away from it for my own mental health. And even with my strict avoidance policy, it still cast a pall over me. I've heard enough second hand here and on tv to make me mope around teary-eyed for the past two days. What scares me more than the Republicans in the hall (and they scare the hell out of me) is the utter lazy mindless incompetence (and worse) of the so-called press. Kerry's Springfield speech was a blessing...or rather, it was until Chris Matthews cut it off with that fatuous, stupid, unprofessional "This is the President's night" comment. Yeah, Tweety, you supercilious little prick, and this is my country you're allowing to be sucked into the toilet, and it is your job to bring us every piece of information you can so we can, maybe, elect a man who will reverse the fall.
Grrr. I caught the rest of Kerry on Cspan, he was super, and I am relieved beyond belief that the Repukes are finished. (I hope in more ways than one.)

To all who watched and kept us informed...THANK YOU!

18. I only watched tonight because
I was hoping to see Bush trip or a technical problem. Bush's speech ended up being a good substitute for a sleeping pill. zzzzzzzzzz
