Well, CNN just elevated the Ayers story by saying the guy never hid
from his past and that Obama actually served on two boards with him. Which, of course, implies that Obama always knew he was a member of the Weather Underground.

The guy reporting, didn't catch his name, used the word "funneled" when referred to Ayers getting money from the foundations and Charities Obama and he served on.

Basically the dude said once a terrorists always a terrorists.

1. goofy.... it won't help McCain gain any votes
it may however keep those who supported him from not voting or voting for Obama instead. He is using this story to keep a hold on his withering base.

2. Obama being on the board was already discussed. It's old news.
This newsie stuff from traditional media means they want to have fun with this. That's it. It doesn't change the economy.

4. I don't think it's going to have any effect what so ever on voters....
Not with the Dow et al, tanking like they are today...

I just find it curious that CNN would devote that much time to a non starter of a story.

Could be that they put it on at 1:30 in the afternoon just to avoid looking like they were "biased"...

I think as more and more people open their quarterly statements from their investments, the shift toward Obama will escalate.

3. and he said that
(Paraphrasing) Ayers "recruited" Obama to work in one of these organization in which Ayers benefited monetarily. You know the right wing idiots have been saying Ayers recruited Obama into his organization to instill terrorist beliefs and to use that word was despicable.

5. Dont worry, Keating 5 is a HUGE fuck up by McCain. Coming to the media any minute now.
McCain fucked up. Keating 5 now exposed.. < nergerwerber > 10/06 10:47:50

Keating 5 is way more relevant then Ayers in todays economical times.

Ayers = Some one Obama worked with in college for charity

Vs.

McCains association to Keating accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Lincoln Savings and Loan collapsed in 1989, at a cost of $2 billion to the federal government. Some 23,000 Lincoln bondholders were defrauded and many elderly investors lost their life savings. McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981,<11> and McCain was the only one of the five with close social and personal ties to Keating.<33><34> Like DeConcini, McCain considered Keating a constituent as he lived in Arizona.<27> Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates. McCain was criticized by the Committee for exercising "poor judgment" when he met with the federal regulators on Keating's behalf

10. wikiwrongia againia: the S&L bailout cost
more like $293.8 billion (yes b-illion) according to NYT, Globe, and others. About half -$150 billion- was eventually paid directly by the US tax payers (us guys).

Wonder if McCain folks have been reediting Wikipedia to downplay the disaster from "the past"

7. But he wasn't in jail or anything
If he was really a terrorist, why not? He was actually doing good things for the schools when Obama served with him.

8. Charles Keating went to Jail, however.
So I'm not quite sure why CNN is whoring the Ayer story. Guess because they are whores?
