McPalin Silence = Tacit Support of Call to Kill Obama |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 11:04 PM by TheZug
There really is no room for debate here.
If the McPalin campaign will not condemn the attendee at their rally who shouted "Kill him!" then they are TACITLY SUPPORTING this murderous individual.
Some of you may say, "Now hold on a second, I don't really believe that McCain or Palin blah blah blah blah."
No.
If they don't condone the words of this person, then they can say so.
They MUST say so.
Simple as that.

1. Sure there's room for debate. |
|
I hate Sarah Palin. HATE HER. But honestly, my take on it was, she heard it. It fried her brain. She had no idea what to say. She moved ahead with her pre programmed speech.
She's a real piece of garbage. But I'm not ready yet to jump to "She wants someone to murder Barack Obama."

3. That's not what I'm saying. |
|
I'm not saying she wants someone to murder Obama. I'm saying that if they disagree with this person, then they must condemn him, and forcefully. Not with a wink and a laugh. But seriously. And if they don't, then that should only be interpreted as tacit support.

11. You are absolutely right. |
|
How out of line would it be for her to say, "Now, we don't want our opponent in Washington, but let's not go there."?
I would've done it. You probably would've done it. She should've done it. There's no excuse and I am damned tired of excuses being made for SP's poor behavior.

18. Yes, but again, she isn't all that experienced a politician. |
|
Honestly I think you are giving her too much credit in this instance. If she did hear it she likely had no clue how to deal with it at the time. I just don't see her having that much on the ball to be honest.
HOWEVER, I do agree that something should have been said. If not at the time, then at the least in some sort of statement after the fact.

4. Yes, it's completely unfair to expect her to react to unplanned events in the heat of the moment |
|
Giving a speech can be very stressful. Certainly you can't expect her to give talking her full attention while also being alert to the things going on around her. What is she supposed to be, Superwoman?

They probably have more to gain from remaining silent than they do from publicly not condoning it.

5. This is NOT productive. |

The SS probably tagged and interviewed the guy, to include keeping track of him. There's no need to spread FEAR. The right wing is attempting to do just that. Let's not help them?

9. Heh. But I've actually had people here say similar things to me. |
|
Admittedly, I sometimes get carried away. At this point, though, it seems to me that nothing is beneath the Rethugs, but some folks here always want to choose to see the best in people. I guess that's admirable. But I'm not one of them.
And I'm totally serious about this. Not only MUST the McPalin campaign loudly condemn the words of this individual for simple humanity, but if they don't, it will destroy their campaign. This could quickly become a very big story.

15. I hope Obama camp calls them out on this, I find it truly |
|
disgusting and yes, I think that Palin not saying anything shows what type of person she is.
Some people are focused on thinking she is "hot"... but she is so ugly on the inside. If we keep hammering away on her credibility and her conduct when she does things like this people will see her as ugly on the inside and out.

They never never would talk about this subject publicly. I guess maybe Joe Biden could, but I think Obama does not want to give that kind of talk any publicity.

What a cheesy lame ass stunt. How TNG of them to even try and pass that off as an action sequence.

It's a clear pattern of trying to paint Obama as a dangerous, terrorism-loving black man. To whip up fear. They want to go right up to the edge without going over. They hope the "Kill him!" story dies down. But it shouldn't die down--at all.
