NPR Linking "Obama" with "Crisis"
I'm home today, and I've had on my local NPR station. All day, at least every hour they have on an ad for this evening's All Things Considered. First the mention coverage of the growing global economic crisis and the challenge it poses. Then comes a snippet of a female voter " Obama will be BAD BAD BAD for our Country!"

Over and over they play this, running the negative message in the background, like the wallpaper you don't see but taints your gut response. This is for the undecided voters out there.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'd love to see Obama demand an end to all gov't funding for NPR when he gets in the White House. Clearly they can't be trusted not to toe the party line for those in power. They have become just another partisan tool.

3. I can no longer listen to NPR for that reason
The right-wing bias is subtle compared to say Fox news, but it's there.

11. They get most of their revenues from public donations
I have five friends who work for public radio, and one is a local NPR news director. The head of PBS/ NPR is a Bush appointee, while most of the staff is still fairly liberal. Underwriters make up only a small portion of their funding.

5. Yep, the pugs have really done a job on NPR.
Listening yesterday, they had some dipshit in Pennsylvania doing that usual man on the street crap. In the entire town they were in they couldn't find one person who supports Obama. Kind of makes ya wonder, don't it?

14. I think they are trying to be "fair and balanced"
I think they were bullied into being less "liberal" (as if).

I guess that the Republicans threatened them, were they to win, to take NPR apart.

The Democrats will not touch NPR.

Either way, they win.

Cowards.

I stopped listening to them, except for the Saturday morning shows.

At least the person that reads your mails can't claim ignorance of what is going on at NPR.

13. Satellite Radio
XM or Sirius, although I guess they will be merging soon. I drive around so much with my kids I insisted upon it as all we have locally are clear channel stations or their ilk and NPR for talk radio. It also makes road trips much more pleasant!

18. I listened to NPR all day today too
I heard that quote and others - overall McCain gets the worst of it as usual, but let's not let the facts change the mischaracterization and free-for-all that is DU when it comes to NPR. Next up: MSRNC says one bad thing out of 10 good about Obama. :eyes:

20. yah I did too.
it's not perfect I guess.. I'm sure I'm emotionally drained worrying about the general Earth-rape but I'm not too upset with my NPR.

I do send a letter almost every day to a host of one of the shows :p I use them as an outlet. I'd never bother writing to CNN though!
