keep our eyes on the prize folks
After the debate I'm starting to feel pretty secure about B.O.'s run to the whitehouse but one thing is worrying me.Today at work some were sounding TOO relaxed about this now.

We CAN'T stop with the whitehouse. We have a shot at giving him a filibuster proof senate. We can make HUGE gains in the house. We have governors and state reps and county and city elections, not to mention state and local ballot initiatives.

If things look secure in your state lets not get lazy.Canvass for your rep or governor.Hang flyers.Work a phone bank for your mayoral candidate.Let's make sure we are doing all we can.We only have a few more weeks work to go so lets stay focused and get this election finished right.

We put these rat bastards into the political wilderness for 40 years once in the past, lets do it again.

1. racist GOPers have confidence that the worst elements in America will prevail
it's projection... they imagine most people are as hateful as they are

we're about to prove them wrong

4. Yes, and we are loathe to admit that there are people who vote Democratic who are racist also.
Some may not be actively or overtly racist, but it still lurks within them. I would not be surprised to lose a few percentage points to these kinds, so it is important to win by as much as possible. We can savor being ahead, but we must fight hard to the end. I believe that Obama knows this already and he will not get complacent.

2. I agree 100%
I get upset when others around me sound way too relaxed. It's not over yet, and I'm still nervous -- no matter what the polls say.

Lets keep it going guys. It's good to be happy about Obama doing well, but it's not over. :)

Good post.

3. K&R! We MUST HAVE a filibuster-proof Congress as well as the White House.

5. Thats what happening in CA over prop 8 - its now passing in the polls
because everyone thought there was no way it would pass - no one got excited anymore and now the tides have shifted with less than a month to try and save equality. Its sad - we must keep up the campaign and GOTV!
