Simple question: Why do wingnuts think McCain is a LIBERAL? |
|
A liberal for the lover of all that's rationaL!
McCain has a conservative record on reproductive rights, on judges, on military matters. OK, he doesn't want to drill in ANWR and he teamed up with Feingold on campaign finance reform, but that's it. The guy doesn't have any liberal tendencies and he never freaking did. And I don't get dems who think he used to be a decent guy and a "maverick". What a crock of unadulterated media filtered bullshit. McCain is a craven little shit who will do or say anything to win and he's always been the same repulsive, lying toad.

1. I've wondered the same thing... |
|
I know they hate how he voted on immigration, but then again Bush disappointed them about that as well; maybe it's because he ran against dubya...the wingnuts still love him.

4. They'd call their stale corn flakes "liberal" |
|
I don't think they know what the word really means.

5. The McCain you see today.. |
|
is not the McCain he was back in the 80s. His policy positions, to them, was far more liberal. Just on that alone, they do not trust him, they are also not voting for McCain, they want that religious fascist Palin.

because he IS more liberal than they want him to be. I'm a DK guy who finds Obama to be more conservative than I would like (which is just a hoot to tell conservatives when I talk with them.... it really starts their head spinning around), but he is as close as I can get in this election so that is who gets my vote.

8. McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts. |
|

McCain was also against Roe v. Wade being promptly overturned (leaving open the possibility that it should be overturned someday), before he changed his mind and now simply says that it should be overturned.
McCain spoke of the fairness of the estate tax, before he changed his mind.
