On FOX & FRIENDS he was replaced by Bill Burton. Either FOX banned him or the Obama campaign didn't want him going into the lions den.
Look at The Page's recap of morning show appearances:
http://thepage.time.com/2008/10/09/morning-show-summary-113/Morning shows focused on the campaign’s increasingly negative tone, mainly from the Republican side. Included rowdy GOP crowds and, for the first time, Cindy McCain’s attacks.
Critical report on ABC’s “Good Morning America” said the McCain campaign has been “laying it on thick” in “a full-bore attack on Obama’s character, suggesting he’s yellow, disloyal and doesn’t belong.”
Also on “GMA,” Obama adviser Gibbs and McCain adviser Wallace continued sparring over Ayers. Wallace said voters don’t care about “a former washed-up terrorist,” but are troubled by Obama referring to him as “a guy in my neighborhood.” Gibbs called it “a desperate and dishonest attack” meant to distract from the economic crisis.
Cold open on NBC’s “Today”: “Gloves off, knives out.”
Lead report detailed the “harder line” in the campaign, calling Cindy McCain the “newest attack dog” and McCain’s crowds “increasingly rowdy.” Also quoted Biden calling McCain an “angry” man “lurching” between positions.
Also on “Today,” Gibbs and Wallace. Gibbs called McCain’s new mortgage plan “another erratic proposal” and the Ayers attack a “dishonest, desperate political smear.” Wallace said “the point is Barack Obama lied” about the extent of his relationship with Ayers. Vieira pressed Wallace for an interview with Palin; Wallace promised Palin will speak to NBC at some point.
Also on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
