McCain/Palin's latest strategy: The Hail Hitler Pass |
|
My son came up with that. We were talking about the recent choice by McCain to rile up hatred, get audiences to scream about Obama being criminal, socialist, terrorist, kill him, etc. And the latest Ayers ad that throws gas on the fire. Big question: Is there a strategy to this beyond just negative advertising and getting the base out to vote? Do they want violent mobs of brownshirts going around before election day? Do they want to incite violence against candidates? Do they want to get the South and Alaska to secede if they lose the election? These sound like crazy ideas, but I can't help thinking that in their Rovian minds, the rhetoric and propaganda is part of some larger goal en route to seizing power.

2. Way to ruin a potentially good thread with your tinfoil crap. |

The election will not be canceled, for Christ's sake. Bush can't do it, and if he tried no one would listen. Read the Constitution, unless you think it's just a piece of paper.

7. No, don't go. You must explain to me what you get out of this. |
|
What on earth can you possible gain by predicting that Martial Law will be declared? Does it make you happy to fantasize about living under totalitarian rule? Are you a glutton for punishment?
Really, how does this support the Democratic candidate? After all, that's what you're supposed to do on DU. If you can't do that, why are you here? Are you perhaps a troll? Seems reasonable.

4. Cancel the election? That could be it. |
|
Hadn't even thought of that, but violence could give a pretext.
Keep an eye on this, folks.

5. Have you been awake the last 8 years? |

Bush has gotten away with raping the Constitution over and over again. No one, surely not the spineless Congress, will be able to stop him from doing anything unConstitutional.

10. they're trying to create doubt -- trying to work that alleged "Bradley effect" |

so that enough people have doubts when they get into the voting booth. I don't believe they knew that they'd be enticing the crazies to come out like this, but they are doing nothing to stop it. They think that if they can create enough doubt, that might do it in enough states.
