Personally, I don't go in for prayer, but if those who do would hold these vigils, esp. coordinated ones across the country, there'd be guaranteed media focus on this issue.

1. What a great idea.

I know some folks who are really upset. I'll pass this along.

edit: It needs a positive focus though. Opposition/resistance is THEIR way.
You don't attend anti-war rallies but pro-peace rallies.

Spread the Love vigils?

2. And how could the haters respond? Guarantee the vast majority of them
are "Good Christians" --

I think this is a great idea.

4. I think it's a great idea also
I know there are some smaller groups that are doing this now.

There is a liberal christian website that has a petition asking Palin to stop bearing false witness against a fellow christian.

5. I like it, is there a Christan board here?
That would be a good place. I think there may even be a christiansforobama.com web site.

8. i DO 'go in for prayer'...i pray for him daily - his safety and that of his family
i also pray that the hearts of everyone are healed, that strength and reasonableness prevail, that ALL are moved to goodness and honesty, and that God's guidance remain on whomever truly asks

laugh at me if you want :)

i can't 'tell' God what to do. i can only pray for his guidance and direction.

i believe Obama's heart is open, and he is moved to goodness...and i also believe what we are seeing from the other camp is what is supposed to happen

does that make me as crazy and scary as the one who heard God's voice to go to the bus and annoint the Palins as vessels of God (or whatever that story was)??

i dunno. probably some think so.

i'm not sure i have a valid argument against that, other than it is not for me to assume to know what God has planned, and i think it takes a hell of a lot of balls to make that assumption.

18. There may be a tradition which eschews prayer, but I'm not aware of it, and I've looked into a few..
Praying for the most positive outcome for all involved is something I picked up from the DU alternative healing etc. forum. If you pray, it wouldn't hurt to try this.
