I would tell him to take a copy of the US Constitution, and relevant texts from Jefferson et al. and "let me count the ways" in which Smirky has violated the document he solemnly swore to protect.
I would tell him to bring a copy of the Geneva convention, and read each paragraph that describes how it's been violated at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, Afghanistan, and I would then explain why the Conventions were created, and that it was basically to protect soldiers from all countries (including USA) from things like beheading, etc...
Then, I would tell him to bring a copy of Smirky's speech last night and go through every line of the "compassionate" stuff in the domestic policy lies, and compare each with GWB's record and actual actions, and say "why didn't he keep the promises of the first term? Was it because of 9/11 and the so called (I would insist that Kerry ALWAYS say "so called" before saying WOT) War on Terror? OK, but we are promised 4 more years of pre-emptive wars on Terror, so why would he keep any promise in the second term??"
But I am not Kerry's senior advisor, nor junior for that matter :)

7. Yup. Push the Rule of Law as the ultimate in Compassionate Conservativism. |
|
The Bill of Rights and Geneva Conventions as The Principles of Civilisation to be defended from Theocracy and its Jihad and Crusades.
Here's what I wrote to Kerry's campaign today-
THEY ARE USING YOUR AMMO AGAINST THEM BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT!! THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT YOU DENIED TROOPS BODY ARMOR FOR GAWD'S SAKE, MAN!!
WHERE'S MENTION OF THE BILL KERRY INTRODUCED TO REIMBURSE FAMILIES WHO HAD TO BUY BODY ARMOR FOR THEIR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS IN IRAQ TO SHAME THE PENTAGON INTO SUPPLYING OUR TROOPS WITH THE EQUIPMENT THEY NEEDED??!!?? WHERE??!!
YOU MUST 'GO NEGATIVE' (SIMPLY expose fraud, deceit, crime, incompetence) TO JUSTIFY CHANGING HORSES OR IT WON'T MATTER THAT KERRY IS AN ACCEPTABLE CHOICE TO THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T SEE OUTSIDE THE TV BOX, DANG IT!
Problem: 'Support Our Troops' is being co-opted into 'Support Bush's War'. Criticism of the White House's personal oil war is characterized as instead attacking our own children in uniform who are STARTING TO REALIZE they are killing and dying as corporate security for a private cabal of American industry war lords.
Solution: Having finally created the movie 'Kerry is "Jimmy Stewart/Rambo," a nice guy who kills if he has to, NOW you can BEAT THESE CHICKENHAWKS DOWN SHOWING THEIR ABUSE OF OUR TROOPS/VETERANS AND KERRY'S DEFENSE OF THEM. Simple facts.
PROBLEM: This IWR issue is being weaponized into accusations of flip-flopping to portray Dems as too flaky to defend the nation. How to explain Kerry Voting for the Iraq War Resolution yet being critical of the war's 'execution?'
SOLUTION: SAY THAT GIVING POLICE A GUN TO PROTECT US WITH IS NOT THE SAME AS TELLING THEM TO SHOOT A SUSPECT ... WHO IS STILL BEING SEARCHED FOR WEAPONS HE DOESN'T HAVE.
-Justice IS a complicated process of nuance and sensitivities CALLED RULE OF LAW determining the integrity of our nation and it's leadership in the world and here at home.
THE REPUB UBER-PATRIOT BULLIES ARE FEMINIZING RULE OF LAW BY ATTACKING THE UN AS INEFFECTIVE.
THE AGE OF MIGHT-MAKES-RIGHT POLITICAL IMPUNITY IS HERE. (Actually, back from Nuremberg 1936)
KERRY MUST AFFIRM THE US CONSTITUTION'S BILL OF RIGHTS, AND THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS AS THE PINNACLES OF 'COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVISM' copyright 1980 RNC, Inc -A phrase that sells, a phrase that pays
TO BE DEFENDED AGAINST THEOCRACIES LIKE THE TALIBAN OR AL-QUEDA OR THE WHITE HOUSE'S BULLY-PULPIT CRUSADES
TO PORTRAY KERRY AS THE GOOD GLOBO-COP
TO DISTINGUISH HIM FROM BUSH'S BAD GLOBO-COP.
-'Shoot first and ask questions later' is vigilantism at best and global lynching at worst.
Even the questionable role of Globo-Cop doesn't mean killing suspects indiscriminately and bombing their civilian populations.
HOW ABOUT THIS BUMPER STICKER: VOTE KERRY: STOP TORTURE Would it be true?

You got it exactly. Bush's oath of office was a lie to God, and there's a special place in hell for someone who turns kids into torturers. You, judy, have a beautiful mind, like mine.

Make him really, really mad.
He has a temper. The more Americans see it, the less Americans will vote for him.

9. Tell his supporters to ignore these early polls... |

They are less than meaningless. If we are down by 10 points with 3 days to go, then we will be a little concerned. Don't waste your time on these polls at this time.

10. Use simple, forceful messages. Pick a few anti-bush messages |
|
and keep repeating.
During some of his speeches, he tends to give too many facts and figures. His speeches need to be hard hitting yet simple.
I would like to see: * More emphasis on Bush's links to Saudi Arabia. * Keep beating the Cheney/Halliburton drum. * Keep emphasizing outsourcing and how it will accelerate. * Keep questioning Bush's commitment to defend this country when it was HIS life on the line rather than others.

They've walked blindly into every Rovian plot. They allowed themselves to be cast in a bad light on what are really strengths. They allowed the worst president in at least 75 years to get a free pass. They allowed Bush* to take the initiative, putting themselves in a defensive mode. And they've allowed the Repugs to control the issues and dominate the discussion.
Time for a coherent, coordinated, and massive counterattack. I hope they have it in them.

16. push short memes like: |
|
*bush lies
*we are not safe under bush
*bush is a coward
*bush is a spoiled rich boy
i really like the idea of making him into the spoiled rich boy that he is. bush has no skills (falls off bikes and segways) and only knows the inside of country clubs. i think it would also be damaging to point out that he is a middle aged man who has lived in his daddy's shadows and has ridden his daddy's coattails. edwards should pound this one into the ground.

17. Punch George W Bush in the teeth with the Truth. |

“I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it — and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.”

“We have more will than wallet.”

1. tell John to keep his sense of humor intact, as that can make the difference between seeming "on the attack", ie defensive, versus self confident. During the repuke convention, Cheney used this technique to great advantage. Bush used it also, but by then his face was already a bit flushed and agitated.
2. Remember that Bushie has a short shelf life, he starts out strong, but then loses his cool pretty good.
3. Go on Letterman, or get into one of his top ten lists. I think appearing as a team (with Edwards) would be effective, too. Ask Letterman to do a top ten list about the "flip flop" thing, but have it be to Kerry's advantage.

20. Do a push poll in WI, OH, WV, TN, NC, MO |
|
...if you knew that George Bush was given preferential treatment to get into the national guard during Vietnam and that he went AWOL to snort cocaine, would that make you less likely to vote for him?
...who do you think is more fit to lead the country - a man who avoided going to Vietnam like Bush or a man who volunteered to go like Kerry?
