Craigslist freeper on Palin's SAT Scores: "Who gives a fuck!"
Re: Palin's SAT scores (Who gives a fuck!)
Date: 2008-10-09, 3:44PM MST

You were quick to post Sarah Palin's SAT score, could you please locate Barack Obama's. And you can bet your bottom dollar that Obama had some sort of free ride on an affirmative action minority set aside program. I may be wrong but I doubt it.

And you do not have any idea of how or why he became editor of the Harvard paper or whatever he was. He may have been the only one who wanted it. My guess is that most of his other calssmates were there to get Law Degrees, and not work on newspapers, but that's just my uneducated guess. I remember all the liitle twits that worked on our school papers, not quite Presidential material.

As far as SAT scores and college degrees go, the whole reason this econmy is in the shape its in is because a LOT of people with great SATS have had their heads up their asses!

And I say that you are full of shit when you say that you took the SAT when you were 11, and scored over 841! What are you doing dicking around on craigslist, shouldn't you be out inventing something or coming up with a new Theory of Relativity. Idiot.

Wasn't 600 the base combined score for someone who signs their name correctly on the SAT, back when the max score was 1600?

33. Her scores are pretty average
The SAT people recalibrated sometime in the late 80s or early 90s (before they scrapped the old scoring system completely), so it can be tricky to make direct comparisons. All in all, her scores seem to be pretty middling.

Full disclosure: I took the SAT in 1984; 680 verbal (top 1%), and 530 math

35. that's uncanny - we have the exact same scores
I took the SAT for the second and final time in '91. I think the restructuring took place in the mid or late 90s.

I could've sworn, though, that back under the old system, a combined 800 was bad.

36. The recalibration
All i know for sure was that it was sometime after 1985, when I graduated from high school. You could be right about it being in the mid 90s.

She's below average...
if you look at the percentiles she was in the 36th percentile for reading and 31st percentile for math-- overall 36th percentile. That means she scored better than only 36% of the people who took the test.

Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 02:12 PM by theoldman
My guess is that his IQ is 130 to 140. Compare this to Bush who is about 90 at best. While not everyone with a high IQ would be a good president, past history has shown that the dumb ones make bad presidents.

21. Yep. Every time a black person succeeds in life, it's because of "affirmative action".
And every time a woman gets promoted, it's because she slept with her superiors.

Of course, those stereotypes only apply to liberal blacks and women, they have never questioned Palin's road to stardom, have they?;)

44. in general
intelligence tests were design to find people with learning problems. High scores on these tests have been reified to be something called intelligence. There is no good evidence that intelligence is something that is a scalar that can be reduced to a single unchanging number. I would suggest Palin's lack luster SAT score (less than 800 I believe a sign of true problems) and lack luster college record tell you the story of a person not particularly interested in education.

I don't think those are Palin's scores, but the crack that Obama was an affirmative action candidate and no one else wanted to be the editor of the Harvard Review is amazing. As to an 11 year old doing that well, many smart middle school kids take them and do far better.
