More Bizareness at Town Hall; audience member says Obama is an Arab as she gets ready to ask Quest.

McCain then grabs the mic and says he is a good person and not an Arab. McCain is literally playing with fire with his audience.

Summary of Town Hall: McCain told crowd that we have to be respectful to Obama to an audience person that said he cannot imagine raising his son under an Obama presidency. Some in the crown booed McCain when he tried to defend Obama. A few minutes later, an audience member tells McCain to bring up Ayers, so McCain starts talking about the Ayers association just a few minutes after he said we should be respectful to Obama. Shortly thereafter, this audience member says she is terrified by him and that he is an Arab. Pretty entertaining and scary at the same time I would say.

2. I have been wondering where are...
the Muslims and Arabs at McCain's events who need to ask him if they are a Muslim are they not Americans?

these crazies popping up to ask questions or make comments are even freaking McCain out. He's a nut, but not the same kind of nut as Palin and her kind.

4. Okay, now I'm worried about HIS safety too

He's gotta be around on Nov. 4th to vote against.

If he starts defending Obama's character to these goons, they're going to turn on him.

13. I retract my prior "let it ride" attitude on this...

I was glad to see this come out so it can be exposed, but now I'm getting creeped out by it.

The candidates are not going to get hurt, but somebody is likely to get hurt at this point.

He's got to put a lid on this stuff if he has a smidgeon of dignity left.

27. I don't think McLame could put a stop to this even if he wanted to.
His base doesn't respect him at all. Him defending Obama and urging calm is only going to incite more hatred on to himself. If they really want to dampen the hostility they need to send their queen out there with this message and I doubt this is something she'd be willing to do.

29. If McCain manages to "win" this election
he had better hire a food taster.

The evangelicals are already 'praying' for his early demise.

9. I keep remembering the "Brooks Brothers Protesters" back in 2000
I believe that many of the people shouting and ramping up the McCain crowds are people planted by the campaign.

Should anything bad come of this, McCain can kiss his political career and anything left of his reputation goodbye.

nasty fucks.

These people are probably decent human beings in their normal, everyday lives. But the Rovians know what buttons to push to turn them into animals.

This time around, though, I think they fucked up.

36. I also think it is too late.
McCain and Palin made it their business to incite violence and hatred during their town halls and stump speeches. They made it their business to use all the code words in order to make their adherents angry. They also made it their business to redefine what it means to be an American and to link that definition with fear, superiority, and self-righteousness.

They made their bed. Now, they have to lie in it.
