Have you seen it? He was not happy, he did not look comfortable. He looked pissed that he had to admit that Obama is decent person. He couldn't even look up. I don't buy it for one minute.

2. Remember SNL's Mr. Subliminal?
They should bring him back as McCain saying positive stuff about Obama, but slipping in the subliminal remarks like "evil" and "devil" and "terrorist."

3. that statement was either generated by polling data
Or pressure from others in his party. Another turn in an erratic and bumpy road.

6. Too little, too late.
The word eratic comes to mind. One minute he is ramping up hate in his rallies and laughing along with the crowd, next minute he is telling them that they need to be respectful. He must have crossed his fingers when he said that last part.....or like I said, he doesn't whether he's coming or going.

10. It's the latter.
He's just acting desperately. Doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

9. I understand he was booed for defending Obama…
Serves him right. How humiliated he must feel right now.

11. they just showed it
on MSNBC. The deal is the internal polls show his negative campaigning tanking and dashing his hopes. Newsweek is showing his and Palin's unfavorables way up. And of course, he's wetting his pants since Barack told him to say it in his face at the debate.

Just remember Barack said he won't throw the first punch, but he will throw the last.

17. Practicing his concession speech?
He must see the writing on the wall. Maybe he's thinking of his remaining years in politics and trying to restore some semblance of dignity and grace after dwelling in the mud these last few months.

18. It's about damn time.
Unfortunately, as posted above, it's too little too late. In addition, I think he only began addressing it because he realized it was hurting his polling rather than helping it.
