McCain's dumbest error, politically speaking, was bringing up the realistic possibility that
his opponent COULD be President--and that his supporters were going to have to allow it to happen. When you've been working for months to get your candidate elected, the last thing you want to say is "Well, the other guy COULD be elected..."

Not, my opponent should not be feared, because he's not going to win--but "You have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency."

That's a HUGE political blunder and the campaign is now in shambles. Granted, McCain painted himself into a corner--but that was a piss-poor way of defusing an already crappy situation.

Anyway, had he been in that situation, Obama would have done it better. :)

1. I sensed a bit of resignation to be honest..
...in McCain's statement.

3. It was an honorable thing to do
Probably hypocritical in light of his ads and earlier statements, but still the right thing to say. Let's not bash him over it.

5. If McCain had presented himself the way he did in 2000
this would be a very close election. Problem was that he sold out everything he ever publicly stood for to get the nomination.

Dishonorable, Grampy, dishonorable. So now you pay the price of electoral humiliation.

6. It wasn't honorable at all..
His statement was calculated to make him appear to be an honorable man.

He's still a fucking piece 'o shit! :smoke:

7. I agree. He was getting so much negative press, he had to stop. Plus, the SS probably told him to
cool it or face consequences if something happened.

4. Obama would never have gotten himself into that situation.
McCain seems to be a master at creating problems for himself.
