Poll question: Where do you think the TRUE polling stands right now?
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 06:10 PM by BullGooseLoony
We seem to be having a lot of trouble coming to some kind of conclusion of who is leading this race between Kerry and the Chimp.

In the interest of not push (or PULL) polling, I won't offer up my own opinion on this, but I WILL say that I don't think things are nearly as bad as the media is making it out to be for us.

So- who's winning this race with regard to the popular vote (not the electoral vote)?

1. It stands right here

Bush is leading in only two polls more than Kerry, and NOT by more than three points. SO EVERYBODY CALM DOWN.

And I doubt the Sept 2 poll was taken after Bush's speech. SO EVERYBODY CALM DOWN.

6. The key to the election is turnout
And the polls badly underestimate that. They always have.

11. Unless and until
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 07:59 PM by Davis_X_Machina
I see the right track/wrong track numbers flip, and a significant change in the approval, and more importantly disapproval, numbers for both candidates, I'm sticking by my prediction:

Kerry, w/ 307 EV and a popular margin of 4.1 million.

(You will notice that the Time poll in question doesn't have, or doesn't report, answers to these questions.)

Thus it is written, so it shall be.

13. I'd put Bush up by around 5%
If Kerry has a good month, the race should be deadlocked by October 1. If he has another bad month, fuhgettaboudit.

14. Bush is leading by 2 or 3 percentage points
Which means, it's anyone's game right now.
