Research on Code Section Violation -- IMPEACHABLE |
|
The violated statute: Alaska Code § 39-52-120 (a) A public officer may not use, or attempt to use, an official position for personal gain, and may not intentionally secure or grant unwarranted benefits or treatment for any person.
The corresponding punishment statute: Alaska Code § 39.52.410 (d) If the personnel board finds a violation of this chapter by a public officer removable from office only by impeachment, it shall file a report with the president of the Senate, with its finding. The report must contain a statement of the facts alleged to constitute the violation.
After filing the report, I think the Senate can run with the impeachment. She DID violate Alaska Code, though not its criminal code.
All that legal research in law school has paid off!

who says she was "exonerated" is dead wrong, according to the Alaska Code. Ethical violations -- we don't need any more of that in the White House.
