Help! Need advice about this PUMA thing-- is this a real threat??
A friend just forwarded me the following and she's worried. What do you all think??

PUMAs don’t forget to say you are voting for Barack Obama if polled…
October 9, 2008 by PUMA Pundit
PUMAs,

If and when you get polled, remember to let the pollster know that not only do you intend to vote, but that you are strongly committed to voting for:

Barack Obama

It is extremely important we keep on doing this. Let Obama and his surrogates keep on being lulled into a false sense of security at having a lead in the national polls.

So far this strategy seems to be working, polls show Obama to be up…

Of course on election day, as PUMAs we all know that no way, no how, we shall not vote for Obama. We might write in Hillary’s name, we might vote for John McCain, heck we might even write in our own names, but to give our vote on Barack Obama is simply not something we shall do.

Rock On,

PUMA Pundit

1. It's as much of a threat as Skylab.
Both are over and done with. Anything left is just a sad remnant of what it once was.

These PUMA idiots are legends in their own minds. There are far, far fewer of them than they could ever imagine. They'll be tossed onto the dust-heap of history come November 5th.

15. Agreed. A thinly veiled Repub mind-fuck, to make the polls
seem "off".

Of course it's incredibly transparent bullshit, and no one believes it.

Every trick they're trying, EVERY ONE, is failing this time around.

Obama will win.

The McGate Campaign is near the end of a tailspin not seen since Mike Dukakis got the shit knocked out of him. I think your friend is a freeper.

30. they all magically started lying to pollsters right when...
Obama won the first debate

McCain suspended his campaign

The economy tanked

Palin epic failed

none of that affected the polls, but the .58 percent that might be PUMA just suddenly started lying to pollsters.

a likely story.

sleep well tonight. :hi:

33. Sounds like they're trying to whistle in the dark
and convince themselves the polls aren't as good as they are.

Considering they only got 60-100 people at their Washington DC conference....

....and the same amount at Denver.

I'd say they don't have the numbers to be anything but an annoyance.

Remember, they think they represent every single person who voted for Sen. Clinton. However, all evidence is that the vast majority of Clinton supporters have followed her lead in supporting Sen. Obama.

Keep fighting though. The more people actually vote for Sen. Obama, the more the PUMAs implode.

36. It is a RW tactic
the assholes over at Hannity were saying the same thing, said Rush told them to do it.

How did the Rush plans work in 06?

So they are going to lie to pollsters and get Obama a huge lead, thus demoralizing Repuke voters causing them to sit out an election. Sounds like a great plan.

42. BAHAHAH! This is like Rove predicting victory for Repukes in 06
they are busy playing childish "psych out" games for each other. Meanwhile, we are mobilizing the biggest get out the vote effort against a FLAWED GOP candidate in a "perfect storm" set of conditions for a voter revolt against the incumben party. Look for massive losses not only in electoral votes as Obama wins in a landslide. Look also for a massacre of Republicans across states. This is gonna be lopsided.
