The McFailin' strategy couldn't be simpler: Excite their base and |
|
try and cover Obama with their manufactured shit to the point that voting for him (and other dems) is depressed. That's why the faux tamping down of raging McFailin' supporters is nothing but a red herring. They're not going to stop what their doing. They believe it's their only hope.

1. they can't beat him... |

but they can turn an overwhelming landslide into just a slight victory.
I've seen others write, though, that it's more of a cynical exploitation of the base for campaign contributions to mitigate the massive campaign debt they've built up. These people are more likely to give money--and more of it--if they think that not only will Obama usher in the Union of American Socialist States (ha, that's the Union of ASS--sounds like a quality porno :P ), but they still have a chance to stop it, they'll throw much more of their money at McCain than after the election when it's a foregone conclusion.

2. Can you point me to a link about McCain's primary debts? |
|
He doesn't have general election debts.
I agree that they can't succeed, but can diminish the margin- maybe.
