...Obama was never going to maintain an 11 point lead. If he fluctuates between, say, 10 and 5 in most polls between now and election day, it's going to be a great night on November 4th.

5. Apparently someone from Gallup went on MSNBC and said it is back in single digits |
|
It doesn't get updated online until 1 PM EST.

7. So does that imply that mccain's racial attacks are having an effect? |
|
I find it hard to believe that with 8 years of a bush presidency, a republican Congress from the second half of Bill Clinton's term to 2006, and economy which is in full meltdown, that people want to continue the policies of deregulation and war with mccain

10. I suspect you are right. There is no question that the attacks are getting more coverage |
|
than the campaigns responses to the attacks, and that is not good
However, at least up to now, the Obama camp seems to have them at least in check, unlike the swift boat liars against Kerry
Obama will have two more chances to refute the hate garbage from the republicans
The next debate, and his half-hour paid advertising time
I think they are both critical, but the debate will attract more viewers

9. "Single digits" could still be a nine point lead. |
|
Maybe Gallup's numbers are moving closer to Rasmussen's numbers. I doubt Obama is going to get higher than 52% and I would guesstimate 45-46% for McCain and the remaining 2-3% for the third parties.

6. We should not forget hat 538 projection gives Obama 348 EV with a popular vote lead of only 5. |
|
5-6 points can already mean a landslide.

The Polls are hailed when when they come out our way and hated when they don't.
