She is talking as if she were the nominee. Seriously, it looks like she is setting up her platform. McCain is just an after-thought. But she won't make her to the GE 2012, she'll be in jail or soundly defeated in the Primaries. Thanks but no Thanks Sarah...

That might be an entertaining primary.

Ghouliani, and Jeb Bush, too. it will be so wonderful seeing our favorite a-holes killing each other...

5. The fiscals would start walking and never look back.
Sarah Palin doesn't have the mojo to break the Reagan Coalition. Her "broad support" among Republicans is just partisan mindhos playing pretend that they like their ticket as much as we like ours. Palin will go back to AK, get censured, and then lose the next election. If she's really, really lucky, she'll get that corrupt AK senator's seat when he goes to jail. More likely, she'll leave politics and go back to not raising her kids full-time.

7. That's what I was thinking.
She'll have to take on the gauntlet of Republicans. If Obama is doing well, it will be the second stringers (except they're all second stringers.) If Obama appears vulnerable, she will have to take on their best in the primaries. Can she do it on her meager talents?

3. If we win, palin is finished. The transformation of the republican party into
the hard right neocon body that it is will be out of power for quite some time

It will take them years to regroup

God help us all if Obama and the Democrats don't win the White House and Congress

44. Don't worry.
The Democrats already own the House and Senate. When Obama wins the White House and we have 60-65 Democratic senators, the GOP will have to go back and regroup. It'll take a while to flush the garbage out of the system there. The only candidate this time around that could possibly make it is Romney, because at least he has something of a brain.

I'm hoping Washington has the smarts to tell Dino Rossi to f*** off again. That's my primary concern right now.

Since when as the japetto factor been a problem in GOP candidates. Reagan, Quayle, Bush Jr. ... They prefer them stupid. They're easier to overwhelm with information and control through sheer incapability.

10. Well, the National Enquirer will now have four years to keep digging.
If they can get more info on Palin's affair with her husband's business partner, maybe all those family-values Fundies will look at her in a different light.

Shit, I forgot. She's a Republican. She can f*ck anyone or anything she wants, and they'll find a way to forgive her/excuse her (while still pointing fingers at Bill Clinton).

41. Hillary Clinton's 60
and a fine looking woman. I know many fine-looking older women. And menopause isn't the end of a woman's life: if nothing, I think women become more capable leaders as they mature: maybe it's compensation for no longer being breeders - they have to get by on brains and abilities :)

No matter how old she is, Palin will still be a self-centered, ignorant ambitious twirp. A combination of Bush's intellect and Cheney's ruthlessness - the worst possible mix.

40. You don't understand the Republican Party then
Palin will win Iowa, Romney will win New Hampshire, Palin will win the tiebreaker in SC like McCain did against Romney and that will break Romney's back again.

It's Palin's to lose. If she wants to be the nominee then she will.

25. Or her Reality TV show, Governor Barracuda, premiering January 18th
will be such a big hit that she won't need politics any more?

Or I suspect that part of her agenda is to push Drill Baby Drill to get that pipeline going so she can get her perks from that.

But the Palins aren't hurting. http://www.alternet.org/module/printversion/102345

Here's a clip from the Alternet article:

4. Sarah Is a Totally Down-to-Earth American (Who's Got More Than a Million Bucks)

In these times of financial crisis, many politicians are scrambling to seem like one of the people, folks who understand the hardships of economic struggle. Sarah Palin is no different, except maybe that she isn't having that hard a time of it. With her roughneck, sea-fishing, moose-hunting Alaskan image, many people don't find it hard to think of Palin as working-class. And she's milking that image for all it's worth by calling herself an "everyday, working-class American."

Too bad that's total B.S. The governor of Alaska gets paid $125,000 annually (a paycheck that isn't exactly working-class), and according to the AP, she and her husband's combined 2007 income and estimated property and investment values are worth at least $1.2 million:

The Palins' assets seem enviable: a half-million-dollar home on a lake with a floatplane at the dock, two vacation retreats, commercial fishing rights worth an estimated $50,000 or more and an income last year of at least $230,000. That compares to a median income of $64,333 for Alaskans and $50,740 for Americans in 2007, according to the Census Bureau.

Show me a millionaire who claims to be working-class and I'll show you a liar. Show me a self-described "working-class" person with a plane, and I'll show you somebody with burning pants.

I was going to ask you what flavor of crack you were smoking.

I agree, she THINKS she's a viable candidate for 2012. But the fact is she's going to get her ass handed to her in the 2010 Alaska governor's race, and she'll be a political footnote (like Geraldine Ferraro) by 2011.

I bet the talk in GOP women in politics is that they don't like her as a candidate, having not paid her educational and political dues. She's a flash in the pan. The only way she can run is to graduate from one of those evangelical law schools with low bar pass rates.
