1. I'd put it this way
The Democratic party had an upbeat positive convention that focused on issues and saluted service to the nation.

The Republican party had a convention that had to disavow its own keynote speaker and hide him from the press and public.

The Republican party had a convention where the party bosses handed out stickers mocking wounded veterans and then cried that they never meant to do any such thing and werere not responsible.

The Republican party had a convention at which the vice presidential candidate's daughter had to be hidden from the delegates.

The Republican party had a convention at which a speaker mocked the unemployed and gushed over an ex-president synonymous with disgrace famed for paranoia and electoral dirty tricks.

The Republican party had a convention where the Presidential candidate's daughters spouted gibberish while visibly drunk.

The Republican party had a convention that showcased one of the party's most vocal critics to his advantage on its very first night.

The Republican party had a convention that suggested its presidential candidate had risked extraordinary personal danger tossing a baseball during a ceremony.

6. Of course, I loved our convention
but it didn't help Kerry the way it should've because Bush and his failed policies were not highlighted enough.

7. The Republican Convention was a tragic farce -- but people bought it...
apparently, so it's the success. Our convention, I thought, was inspiring and appealed to the best in people, instead of their lowest instincts; it was magnificent. Go figure.
