The dig against Cahill's name was sexist and stupid. |
|
There are undoubtedly many women who would have the salt it takes for a campaign like this. If Mary Matalin weren't evil, for example...
But there is a valid point that Cahill doesn't seem to be bringing out the fight in Kerry.
Maybe it's just his disposition, but his response to all the crap seems to be always too little, too late, and too subdued.
Is James Carville just too busy with the now bare-bones "Crossfire" to come on board?
He has the presidential race track record.
Cahill did a fine job in the primaries and in other campaigns, but maybe it's time to let someone who has done this before take the reins...

1. So what do you know about Ms. Cahill other than her name? |
|
What do you know about her professional history?
(And Joe Trippi did an EXCELLENT job for Dean, didn't he? :eyes: )

2. I know that she helped with Patrick Leahy's campaign. |
|
...and that she did a very good job in the primaries, but that is not the same as going up against the GOP's national slime machine. Carville has done it. I KNOW he's got what it takes to push Kerry in the right direction. I have no such confidence about Cahill.
And I do think Trippi did a fine job for Dean. That doesn't mean they couldn't have used some more input when his campaign went big-time. Trippi seemed to be all about the internet, but neglected a lot of the grass-roots work (stuff that Cahill has admittedly been very good at).
This is NOT as slam against Cahill. But I am seriously starting to worry.
If I hear Kerry harp on his Vietnam service again, (and not address the sleazeboat accusations directly) I'm gonna go nuts.
Why is he depending on democratic talking heads to stand up for him?
Is this all part of some master plan?

4. Yeah, especially the part about working for Dukakis. |
|
Of course, I don't even think Carville could have won it for Dukakis, but that campaign could've been run MUCH better.

5. Don't misunderstand...I'm one of Carville's biggest fans... |
|
I'd give my right arm to have him running this campaign. HE would tear GWB a totally new asshole. However, he doesn't seem interested or available. Cahill is close to Shrum and, if nothing else, at least they should be able to work well together.

6. Don't care about her name. This is way beyond sexism - we |
|
gotta win this, folks! Man or woman - whoever can get this guy out in front - that's what we must shoot for. Let's not, fer chrissake, get bogged down in this petty crap. If a rabbit or Martian could turn Kerry into a winner I would do anything to put them in charge. This is critical -lets keep focused and let nothing set us off course.

...and get rid of Bob Shrum. I don't know why, but every Presidential campaign he gets into, we lose. He is a failure.
Bring in Carville and dump Shrum or we may not be able to salvage this one.
