MEME MEMO: Bush* was magnificent - on style.
The pundits sang to high heaven last night about Junior's speech. But all they could find to praise was style: he looked relaxed, he hit his rhythm, things like that. So if we concede that he's "a real showman," we can follow it up with, "But the content of his speech was all hate and empty promises."

It's a tactic that will serve us well in the debates.

The MEME MEMO: Because language matters.

2. He is ten times better now than he was when he crushed Gore.
He has VERY high expectations in this debate, while everyone knows Kerry is in trouble.

If Kerry can just barely hold on and keep up with Bush's masterful, homespun delivery- he jusy may be able to hold on to a few votes...

3. Are you serious?
He didn't "crush" Gore. He just said "me, too" to all foriegn policy questions and then the Media crowned this English bungling moron victor. Most debate anaylists know Bush didn't "win"And Kerry"is in trouble" ? You are joking right? Still if you are, your taste is questionable!

7. ANYONE who watched the news knows that Bush beat Gore.
It's conventional wisdom.

I tell ya- Kerry should be declared winner by default if he can answer even half of Bush's folksy mannerisms...

4. bush* looked like a clown in a round circus circle...with protestors

popping out everywhere, and the clown BRAGGING about how secure the homeland is under his guidance.....my gawd, the man couldn't even secure his own speech....

bush* is an embarassment in full form last night...what insanity is it to BRAG about his inability to enunciate English? or his inability to put together sentences that make SENSE?

bush* bragged of doing absolutely nothing since his last selection, and was arrogant in demanding that we keep him in the White House and re-select the chimp....

IMO, the "speech" was a total disaster....why do you think that hardly any reTHUGlicans want to comment about it on TV, or talk shows and that the whole speech was dropped off the national reTHUGlican TV's within about 10 minutes of completion, never to be seen again....sort of like Osama bin Laden....that bush* speech absolute SHOCKED reTHUGlicans too....they were expecting some substance....and all they got was hot air and a balloon drop....even reTHUGlicans are SHOCKED at what they have created, and suddenly last night, realized the mistake of their whole bush* worshipping idiotic hate-fest....the talking head were struggling to contain their SHOCK...the do-nothing, perpetual war-profiteering pResident was up there in the Circus circle making a fool of himself for the whole world to see...

10. EXACTLY my point. They'll avoid talking about everything you just said...
...by claiming he did "such a good job." We need to clarify what they mean. He's slicker than a west Texas bootheel. He's a showman. Maybe his speech was magnificent - but his ideas are bankrupt, hateful, and greedy.

It's about not fighting on the RW's turf. See my sig line below.

5. He Was Manchurian READING
the Repukes are all about externals: Appearance, presentation, settings, make-up, costuming, decorum.

That’s why Repuke actors APPEAR so convincing: They know about packaging. The way RAYGUN would spout lines from movies he wished he had starred in, and stood in front of DEAVER’s hundred U.S. flags, and spoke what others wrote with trained conviction, and how he dressed in coat and tie for the Oval Office, and how he insisted that the press corps raise their hands and wait to be called on.

Same with the Repukes that followed and Shrub. Sponteneity is verboten. Put the ugly realities of a demonic, anti-democracy, anti-people agenda into focus-group-screened pretty phrases, and presto!-----a Shrub event.

6. Style over substance
None of the pundits actually talked about WHAT was said, but rather HOW it was said. This is a very important distinction, by talking about HOW it was said you give an implicit endorsement about what was said... without actually going ahead and saying so explicitly. In this way most media gets to get the point across that Bush did a great job, without actually saying it.

This is taken directly from the fascist playbook. In fact I was reading a testimony from a holocaust survivor which stated that his family actually supported Hitler at some point. Why? Because they never saw him live, and they were never exposed to some of the critical newspapers that ripped on Hitler early on, they got filtered news from conservative newspapers in their area. They all said what great magnetic persona Hitler had, never talking about what Hitler actually said in those "great" Nazi soirees. In fact the character of the study commented how he actually went to a Nazi rally because he wanted to meet this great character which had given him hope, it was only when he heard WHAT was said that he realized "holy shit" too let by then.

This is how the average moron gets to like Bush, no one has ever talked about what Bush policies are, but what a great guy he is. To the point that most morons got to believe that Bush is the guy that they'd rather have a beer with (yeah everyone is a big oil from a political dynasty, right?). Never mind that I do not want to ever go to have a beer with my president, in fact I hope he is far smarter than me. But this is how things have de-evolved in this country. It has been ringed from the beginning: If Bush had fucked up the delivery then they would have played the "sympathy" car, "oh, look at him he is just a normal guy, but he is trying so hard... doesn't he look cute?" If he actually manages to speak in English, "great speech, the coming of age, the great speech for the ages" But don't ask any pundit to actually analyze what was said. It doesn't matter, and it never had. That is how they can get away with their daughters fucking up royally in front of millions. It doesn't matter... the average moron never gets to see them.

Hitler was a great speaker, the problem is not what a great speaker he was but what he was saying with those oratory skills, this is how he got a nice Jewish kid to follow him even though Hitler was advocating for his actual annihilation. This is why, my friends, you can have poor trailer park white trash supporting Bush, even though every single policy by the GOP is destined to the annihilation of the middle class.

8. hitler used the same type of entrance ramp design that bush* wanted

and bush* learned it all from his grandpa, prescott bush*, who developed bush* inherited blood money from funding the holocaust....

read a brief summary of prescott bush* (bush* grandpa) "trading with the enemy" hitler....

http://www.john-loftus.com/Thyssen.asp

the playbook is the same....bush* pre-emptively attacks Iraq to steal their oil and chemical industries (hitler pre-emptively attacked Poland, and the resources were coal and the steel mills)....the Jews were used for slave labor at the the Silesian Coal fields in Poland (which became Auschwitz)....for Iraq, bush* will do the same and the same process is in play....Fallujah is now a ghetto, starvation in progress, and random bombings and executions, initial military actions bombed the Water Treatment plants and electrical plants in Baghdad, which are still not repaired, leaving disease, starvation, sewage in the streets....almost 80% of the Iraqis have NO JOBS, and are starving, bush* has deliverately cut off food....and it won't be long before only the 'lucky'(?) few survive (barely) from jobs in the oil fields and the chemical industries...worked to death, just like grandpa did to the Jews at Auschwitz....

12. The bar is set so low for Bush that if he makes it through a speech
without a dozen embarassing howlers of language mangling the media
talks about how great he did.

He did NOT have great style, never mind content. Remember the passion
of Kerry's speech? Bush was draging and dull for 3/4 of his speech, then
he kind of hit his mark when he could forget all that intellectual mumbo-
jumbo and relax into making "fun" of Kerry and indulging in smarmy
sentimentalizing about 911, etc.

He will crash in any kind of debate. Lets not forget how badly he has done
in his press conferences (both of them) even with a cowed press corps.

13. So what's the harm in conceding his great style...
...if the concession undermines his content?

14. I don't believe it does undermine his content....
It just allows the media to continue to hold Bush to lower standards
in both style AND content than they do Kerry, to name the obvious
contrast.
