Getting Obama elected is just the beginning
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 09:10 PM by ruggerson
Republicans are filth (the institutional ones - the ones next door and in your family are just plain stupid.)

From day one after Obama wins, the machinery of the GOP will try to delegitimize him. They will employ the same tactics they did with Bill Clinton, it will be a non stop, relentless, ugly war.

If there is a "honeymoon" it will be advanced by the MSM, not the Republicans.

But, Obama will have something Clinton did not have - an electoral majority. Thus, they will be deprived of one argument to use against him.

Obama will also have a very strong majority in both houses (hopefully.) And rather than being a president during the middle of a cyclical conservative era, Obama may be at the cusp of a secular progressive resurgence.

But, regardless, his election will be just the beginning of a long, hard war.

Republicans are filth. They will not give up and they will never cease trying to destroy him for his entire Presidency.

1. I agree
They're going to go ballistic. Palin's pit bull line WAS NOT a metaphor. They mean it literally.

2. She'll quietly start her campaign for '12
the day after they lose.

3. That is why this board DU needs to unite and organize ourselves
into a support group for getting his programs and ideas into law. We also have a lot of work ahead of us.

4. I was just thinking along similar lines. How far into his first term do you think
they will wait to propose impeachment? My guess is that after one year they will roll out some bogus charges and rally the wing nuts.
