Obama campaign expected to go on offense on issues of voter protection...
This should be good, and is most welcome. People know what's been going on, it's time to lay it out for them.

(excerpt near bottom of article)

There will, however, be one new ripple. On Monday, Obama's communication's shop is expected to go on the offense on issues of voter protection after a week in which Republicans cried foul about registration efforts in various states and painted the community organizing group ACORN as a criminal enterprise.

Obama aides will attack Republicans over efforts to disenfranchise voters in several states, and announce a voter protection campaign involving hundreds of volunteer lawyers around the country.

1. I think Kerry also did something like this, but it didn't work.
But Obama has outdone everything Kerry has so far in this campaign (no offense), so I think this will be good.

3. Rec'd! Thanks, jg!
This is the money quote, right here..

"Obama aides will attack Republicans over efforts to disenfranchise voters in several states, and announce a voter protection campaign involving hundreds of volunteer lawyers around the country."

Love "Democratic Lawyers prowling around the polling places" keeping them honest!

4. I am so happy to hear this, but will they find the corporate media
as willing to spend hours discussing it as they have been with ACORN? The corporate media has ignored severe election "irregularities" for the past two elections because their precious repugs have been the culprits. Now, suddenly, they're concerned about ACORN, which can not be shown to have influenced even a single vote. They are transparent in their bias.

5000 registrations that were supposedly fraudulent. He went to the ACORN office where they supposedly came from but it was closed. He went to their office in Milwaukee and it was closed. Now them being closed was suppose to mean something, but I had a lot of questions for him.

Was the offices closed due to the time of day he went to them? Like was it after office hours or was it due to them being closed completely? He did not say, only said they were closed when he got there. This may sound silly but using critical reasoning, I have learned to question all things that are presented in certain theatrical ways.

If the offices were completely closed, were they open when the fraudulent papers were filled out, or were the papers done by someone else and only made to look like they were done by ACORN? This may also sound silly, but that information was not given out so how are we to know? When did the offices close and for what reason? No follow-up.

As an investigative reporter, this guy sucked big time. The information was not gathered in a manner in which to give the viewer a clear idea of what happened with these papers. It turned into only a smear piece because of the lack of information. I haven't had any classes on investigative reporting, but I have had plenty on investigative procedures and they were not done in this report. The lack of clear information stood out more than the information given.

19. What was the name of the reporter?
And no, I do not find any of your questions silly.

20. I don't remember his name because my daughter woke me up
with the tv before she went to work and I didn't take notice of his name. He was not anyone that I know by sight and neither does she. Sorry.

Glad to know that others are as suspicious of CNN and other MSM as I am.

5. We heard the same thing about the Kerry campaign. I would LOVE to see it actually happen.
I have been fighting for years to get them to take this ELECTION STEALING for real and STOP IT.

I believe that the Vote stealing Machines are going to used to deny us our true gains in congress even if Obama wins too big to steal it for McGramps

12. The Kerry Campaign sent their lawyers..
out on election day. The HAVA required those electronic voting machines that were the larger issue then. Half of us now vote with paper ballots. Those that don't will not be able to conduct any recount. I think of those that use paper, only 17 states require standard audits. I'm glad to see the Obama Campaign doing what they can to educate people about their registrations, but should this election be stolen again, I'm sure that people will blame Obama, rather than their state government. It's funny how that works, isn't it?

6. Yes he can
I did voter protection in Ohio in 2006 and bad job in 2004 ....
I never thought "they" would do it so up front .... In 2006 any
problem and my answer was "the lawyer is on his or her way."

we turned Ohio Blue .... still lost a few house seats to "glitches"
but overall we did good .... and Now Barack is in the house?

11. Is this post one of disbelief. Approval.
I must have enlightenment.

I suppose my enthusiasm could be naivety. I want to believe there is hope. I honestly believe there is hope. Even in despair.

In Ohio we have a great Sec. of State named Jenny Brunner and so I
feel better about Ohio's vote and now Obama is working on this
nationally ... that is great news.

But trust me "they" will still try to steal it.

I sense they're "math" is spread over a diverse arena. But this will get attention. Hopefully action.

13. We have laws preventing counting of ballots, audits, and electronics still vulnerable...
but lawyers and lawsuits might help with the purging of names that have gone on recently with electronic databases, late purging of names without matching to drivers licenses, etc.

Some of it is ineptitude, but a lot will be basis for theft and deliberate confusion.

21. That is most welcome.
Better late than never.

I hope for nationalized, paper-ballot, federal elections before 2010. This should be a priority issue for the next administration (provided, of course, the election isn't stolen again).
