Can someone explain Alaskan politics to me? |
|
Hi. :hi:
I would like someone to explain what Alaskan politics is like.
Why would the Dems support Palin? And why would Alaskans vote Palin in as governor when she isn't even qualified to be mayor?
Please, would you make it clear what political influences Alaskans have? Furthermore, what is the truth about race (and racism) in Alaska? How do they truly treat people of color within the state?
I am asking these questions in order to understand the situation regarding Palin better.
Thank you,
political_Dem.

3. From what I understand, Alaska is a pretty libertarian state |
|
Thus it's pro-choice but also very pro-gun. Also every resident gets a share of the oil revenue and thus you pretty much have to be pro drilling to stand a chance of winning any office.

4. I think it's like this: there's only a few thousand voters state-wide, |
|
and most people have to drive fifty miles or more to cast a ballot. It's no wonder hard-core wingnuts can pull off the occasional victory. They just have to all plan to vote at the same time.
