#979: Spc. Joe Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Louisiana dead

I used to live in New Orleans and there would always be a Cajun named Thibodeaux (tib-a-dogh) who would be a funny person, usually joyful of life, who would be in the crowd. Thibodeaux is sort of a common name in the Cajun world.

When I saw this 24-year-old soldier's name posted on the latest US soldier list killed in action, I had to put on some Beausoleil tunes and danced for the sad soul who died in gunfire attack (from the "enemy") in Hawijah, Iraq.

I hope George Bush is sleeping with one eye open in guilt and shame tonight. He has a lot to repent for.

We need to count down the dead names leading up to 1000 here on DU.

May Joe RIP.

1. Thanks. Good idea to keep track. Don't hear it on the news anymore.

2. "French are wimpy"

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

By which I mean for those of you who say the French are cowards, please remember that citizens of French decent are fighting and dying in Iraq.

3. We have already passed 1000 dead
They fail to list the unidentified dead to the total. Add 35 more to the total. Here's a link to the total number of fallen soldiers as well as the number of injured. May Bush and his neocons burn in hell.

4. That sucks even more. I'm looking at official DOD military count
I know there are probably 2000 dead US soldiers or at least many that may as well be dead in VA hospitals.

I'm talking about the "official" count from the DoD.

5. Too many have died because of the neocon lies
We have to remember them and not let the public forget. Thanks for you post.
