And Now Republican Party Infighting Begins... |
|
There has been a severe split in the Republican Party for some time. McCain has served to widen ...rather than close the split.
Washington Republicans know McCain, his deficiencies and the disaster that looms ahead, and McCain strategists know that the right wing fundamentalists are 'in' only because of Palin --who is losing favorability polling points by the hour.
People like George Will have already 'washed their hands' of McCain. There are more and more each day.
It is clear that the McCain Campaign has no strategy --they are in crisis mode trying to play every news cycle with something new, hoping it will stick.
One thing Republicans can agree on .... they hate to lose, and if they do lose it is always someone else's fault.
I know the McCain Campaign's internal polling must be absolutely dreadful.
It is likely that there will be a wholesale Republican repudiation of McCain by Party Bigwigs before the election takes place. Watch for it ... and then note which Repubs are pointing fingers assigning blame within the Party.
It should be instructive...

3. Wonder how the RW Conservative Fundies Like It When Palin Refers to Palin/McCain Ticket? |
|
And it has not gone unnoticed that Palin jumps in and talks over McCain while he is talking.
THere is no unifying issue this election cycle to bring those disparate groups under the Repub tent this time.
THey all have 'their issues' which are not embraced by other REpubs.

I hope he throws a big FUCK YOU to the republican party and heads off to indy land, later to publish a book about how they coerced him and took over his campaign.
Maybe he's already writing it -- since he's not out campaigning as much as others ;)

7. I just hope they don't think intensifying the hatred and fundamentalism |

is their way to future success.
They were stronger when Poppy Bush eschewed religious extremists and kept some distance from the religious right.
But Dubya pushed them into being Born Again with Fundie input. Because he couldn't have gotten away with stealing 2004 without the "it was about Guns, God & Gays" excuse.

8. I think a lot of repubs voted for him just to get him out of the way. |

What a way to be treated by your party: as garbage to be tossed out.

9. When McCain Went Hat in Hand to Falwell That Told Us All We Needed To Know... |
|
There was a time when McCain called them 'agents of intolerance' and to this day there are rw fundamentalists who would never vote for McCain because of that repudiation. So when he bowed to the religious right and selected Palin to ensure their vote, there was no hiding the fact that McCain 'sold out' his convictions to try and win the Presidency any way he could.
He really has no credibility left, and that is why the only strategy left is to scare people into thinking Obama is more dangerous than McCain.
