You Know What Surprises Me About McCain's Strategy So Far?
The fact that throughout this entire campaign he hasn't once thrown Bush under the bus and criticized his policies and the way he's handled things over his two terms. He hasn't set himself apart from Bush at all, and you think, seeing as how Bush has an approval rating slightly above herpes, he would want to do that.

I mean, Gore ran away from Clinton, and Clinton has a 55% approval rating at the time.

McCain is just completely ignoring him, while he should be out there blasting him and trying to appeal to independents.

Why he's not is just odd.

1. He's shoring up the 28%ers.
They'd vote for him anyway, but we don't need to tell McCain that.

5. They might not even vote. Or they might vote for Barr. He needs to shore them up tight.

6. I guess that's McCain's dilemma: if he plays to the 28%, he alienates the rest of the country.
It must suck to be him.

2. It's the deal he made with the Bush Crime Family
He wants the Presidency so bad he will do or say anything to get it.

3. That's my sense too, he made a deal
But it's not serving him well, and now he's a prisoner to it.

I think there's a deep psychological imperative driving him to fail, or it could just be the alzheimer's. How could we know which?

4. I wish McCain would finally say something about how he was a P.O.W.
Why is he keeping that part of his life story so tightly under wraps?
