It's definitely not a choice of the "least harmful" as it has been for me sometimes in the past. I'm a sign-planting, pin-wearing, bumpersticker-pasted SUPPORTER.
And it feels great.
Don't get me wrong--McCain would be a grave error but I am voting for the optimism of a new voice and a better choice and a chance to get US back on the right track. Only one train going there--Obama's.

I had a hard time identifying with Kerry because a lot of the breaks he had gotten were handed to him. When someone whispered in Kerry's ear that he lost, he excepted it as his fate. Obama is the opposite in many ways and many ways he is just like us regular Joe's. He is sly and scrappy fighter but he seems be excited to be fighting for us little guys. Anybody that has worked in the trench can identify where he coming from. That must be a scary unknown place for those trust babies

McC nauseates me, but that's outside my decision. If the Repubs had a credible candidate, I'd still be 100% for Obama.
My only hope is that O. listens to the populists more, rather than the conservative Dems. The DLC strikes me as RW-Lite. All of that kind of thinking has been damaging IMO.

as I was for Kerry as I was for Gore as I was for Clinton as I was for Dukakis as I was for Mondale (and I couldn't vote before then).
Not that I am a party "hack", but when it came down to what each of these candidates stood for, I agreed on so much more than I disagreed that my vote was FOR them and not simply against the republican candidate.

When I saw him speak at the '04 convention, I told my husband that he would be our first AA president.
I will have tears in my eyes when I cast my vote for him 3 weeks from today. It will be the beginning of a healing long needed in this country, and we'll be getting a fucking good president to boot.
PS. Even my republican (Eisenhower, Goldwater type - not the neo-con, brainwashed idiots of today) husband, who swore me to secrecy :), told me that he will be voting for Obama.

131. For Obama.. but also REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY AGAINST PALIN |
|
I Love Obama.. and have been on board since '06.. but I didn't have huge reason to vote AGAINST McCain until he picked Palin. I used to think of him as some sort of moderate republican (oxymoron.. i know). Not anymore.
Now i'm just as happy to vote against her as I am to vote for Obama!

* He's satisfactorily clarified his position on H1-B, imho. * His econ policy is right on though he could be a bit more cutting on the wealthy. * Investing in infrastructure and taking a look at revamping rail travel is a great idea. * Looking at alternative energy options including clean coal is right on. * He would be the best face for America when dealing with world leaders abroad particularly Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
That's off the top of my head.

I'm definitely voting for Obama. Even though 2000 was before 9/11 and I would still be voting against a war happy McCain this time if it was Hillary or even Edwards.
