Bradley Effect isn't working. CNN has new Theory as to Why Obama Won't Win: Complacency
Obama's winning status will lower voter turnout leading to an upset on Election night.

Yep. CNN is now McCNN.

4. Yeah, that 'complacency' has new Democratic voters out-registering Repubs by 10-1 in some states.
Yeah, that complacency will sure get the Dems in trouble. :sarcasm:

18. We Outregistered In 2004, Too
We had way more new Democratic voters in 2004, too. How'd that work for us?

We must continue to act as if we are 10 points behind. The campaigns are trying to get people to vote absentee or remind them to early vote so bad weather, working late, long lines and traffic jams don't keep them from the polls on election day.

21. The turnouts in Georgia are already breaking records.
When I was waiting to vote earlier today, I overheard a polling manager in my county saying that turnout was HUGE, like nothing they'd ever seen before. Judging by the stickers I saw in the courthouse parking lot, I'd say a shitload of Dems were there voting, too.

People are fed the hell UP with Bush and everyone like him. They see this as their last chance to make a difference before everything is irretrievably broken.

People are excited as hell to vote for Obama. To vote for not only a great man, but the FIRST African-American President! This is history in the making. They are not going to sit it out just because he's ahead in the polls. lol

8. A friend called me today out of the blue screaming about this very thing-
She was so upset she could barely speak- but she said that CNN had just run this 20 minute free love fest of McCain- I was in a meeting so I couldn't do anything but she was going to call CNN and wanted everyone to do the same. Interesting. Has Campbell Brown started to pull back from asking questions- anyone notice? People are mentioning that Jack Cafferty has not been on for a while- maybe it's related - anything is possible with the corporate media.

9. I've got a new theory... The McCain Effect
it's having a campaign that is so bumbling and disfunctional
that it brings down an entire political party (and it doesn't
hurt that the preceding administration was a disaster too).

The McCain Effect is characterized by having negative coattails

Look at any sports team when they reach the playoffs. Suddenly there are alot of new "fans" with new Jerseys. The GOTV volunteer board at my Obama office is filling fast and yard signs everyone wants one. Everyone wants to say they did something for the winner.

No one likes to work hard for a loser. If your losing your volunteer base and your voter turnout goes down. The people who are left are those looking for moral victories i.e. I did everything I could you can't blame me.

16. From Rasmussen tracking poll:
Just 48% of Republicans have a Very Favorable opinion of their party’s nominee. Seventy-two percent of Democrats are that enthusiastic about Obama.

So Republicans who are pissed with their party and don't like their nominee will vote and Democrats who are enthusiastic about Obama will stay home.

Only in MSM world :wtf:

...and they're staying home on election day. They hate McCain and think his campaign people are beyond incompetent. They're not even turning out for Saxby Chambliss. I have yet to see one Republican who's excited about this election, and I know a couple dozen of them.

17. Let This Be A Warning To Us
Let this be a warning to us that we can't take an Obama victory for granted. After work Friday night, I phone banked. Saturday, I canvassed. Sunday, I tabled a Gay Pride event for a local Congressional candidate and my county party. Today, after work, I canvassed. It was only for an hour (I got off at six and came in when the street lights came on), but it was something.

Do what you can TODAY and EVERY day (or almost every day) for the next three weeks to help Democrats win. There is very little excuse to not be helping in some way.

If you are not in a swing state (Presidential), find a Congressional candidate to help. If your district is so hopelessly rigged that there's no real competition (one way or the other) AND there's no competitive race within 20 miles, find a state legislative race (or governor if that's up this year).

If there is truly nothing in your state, find out if you can do virtual phone banking from home (try MoveOn.org) or write letters to try and reach people in competitive states/races.

Let us laugh at CNN on November 5.

well that door would swing both ways. For every Obama supporter who would be complacent there would be a McCain supporter who would be demoralized and not bother to voter (a lot of Republicans don't like McCain anyways).
