A line from "Mississippi Burning". What would make a man take a 4'X 6' piece of plywood, paint "Obama is a terrorist" and not expect any repercussions? Where does this audacity come from?

1. Racism is a cancer passed on from parents to children.

It must be learned and passed on and brainwashed into the psyche of your kids.

It is evil incarnate.

Yes, you have to be carefully taught.

I know that movie well. Amazing that it's almost 1964 all over again.

5. Xenophobia
Wikipedia:

"Xenophobia is an intense irrational dislike and sometimes fear of people from other countries. It comes from the Greek words ξένος (xenos), meaning "foreigner," "stranger," and φόβος (phobos), meaning "fear." The term is typically used to describe a fear or dislike of foreigners or of people significantly different from oneself."

7. It comes from the leadership. Remember, there was a fair amount of hate
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 08:53 PM by Quixote1818
when Hillary suggested Obama was ripping off Michigan and Florida. A lot of people said they thought Obama was dishonest and arrogant. Not anything like we are seeing at McCain rallies but people follow the cues of the leaders. Hillary has more than redeemed herself from that tough fight. I think McCain and Palin have a lot of crap to start cleaning up. Their supporters do seem to have some deep down prejudice issues and hate radio has certainly contributed to the "insanity". Or should I say the "Hannity".

11. The fuckin funny thing.
This asshole has had this sign up for a week in Cedar Rapids. Meanwhile, I have to take my Obama yardsign in everynight, in uber-liberal Iowa City. For fear of it being stolen. What's wrong with this fucking picture????
