Governor Palin, can you produce construction photos of your Wasilla home?
If your buddies got together and built a half million dollar home, wouldn't you take some pictures of the event? I would like to see photo evidence of Todd's buddies building this house. Also, if Todd and his buddies built the house, shouldn't Palin be able to produce credit card receipts of the purchased supplies?

Just asking.

You would think that building a huge home would garner a few photos.

if they can produce such a photo.

13. The Village Voice is reporting that the contractor that built the Wasilla Sports Complex
also constructed the Palin home that Todd Palin claims to have built with the help of a few buddies. This should be very easy for the Palin family to verify.

If they can't or won't, then there is a big problem. A big problem like the one Senator Ted Stevens (R) AK, is presently addressing in Federal Court.

The report aired on the Keith Olberman Show tonight.

28. Problem is that Palin eliminated building permits for construction
jobs. So there is no paper trail that way.

What is interesting is the same building materieals that built both structures came from the same vendor.

36. My theory is that the Palins may have received services and goods
for either zero price or reduced price as inducements for the Sports Arena contract. Wasilla might not have a laws governing construction projects, but, if the Palins received those benefits, they would have to be declared to the IRS. The IRS would then expect documentation on the job. I'm no tax expert but I know that gifts over a certain amount are taxable and gifts for promotion amount to "kickbacks".

This deal sounds suspicious and should be investigated.

6. My Wife and I Built Our Log Home From the Ground Up, Starting In 1987
We still are not done. I make all our own doors, cabinets, everything. We contracted very little. We still have all the receipts. We have pictures, bank statements, canceled checks, account statements. If the Palin's built their home nearly all these documents exist or can be reconstructed, -quickly-.

The McCain campaign could/should do this in a matter of days.

when I built my deck. If I built a home I would have photographed the various stages.

We needed the space to store building materials, if nothing else.

Here where it rains all the friggin' time, outside storage is generally not an option.

19. If he was working on her house during the work hours that he was supposed to be building the
"complex" AND she didn't pay for those services, lesser people have been FIRED for less! We had a situation here a few years back where some groundskeepers employed by Elon University were sent to work on administrators' lawns during the course of their workday. Whistleblower resulted in innocent employees being fired (for following instructions, of course) while the perpetrators went unscathed AND unreported.

By the way - I was wondering today why his sports complex debacle has not been played up in the news.

"If people are going to be voting on her based on her experience as Wasilla's mayor, then they should know how she did in the job," Ms. Woodruff said, "the good, the bad and the ugly." Think I will made this an independent post, FWIW.

25. Even though building permits aren't required in Wasilla there should
be lots or records, invoices and billing statements for the labor and materials at the contractors that were involved in the construction. An investigation should be able to get to the bottom of this fast. And if there's nothing to hide there shouldn't be any resistance from any of the parties involved.

34. What contractors...??
That's the whole point of their argument.. there would be no reciepts for ANYTHING.. because all of Todd's buddies did it for "Free" for their "Friend".

:eyes:

That's how they get out of this... no reciepts sticks to their stupid story. Obviously, they paid for supplies though... right?

26. What about State or County inspection records? Don't all homes require inspections throughout the
the building process? Perhaps there's some tidbit of info there.

Not privy to Alaskan building codes but seems some things would be a universal requirement, right?

31. I read where one supplier put a lien on the property,
wonder who else did.

anyone check the property title to see if there's other behind him?

Half million dollar house (probably 300k to build), no mortgage,

Built in 2002 when she was Mayor (salary maybe 25k/yr), Todd maybe working full time on oil rig (stretching salary to 100k). Still no way for them to build without financing.

Something stinks, and it ain't rotten salmon.
